Poor reception upon arrival, one receptionist was very nice but another who seemed to be the boss had a definite attitude problem. Room was fantastic however, very modern, spacious and clean. Food in restaurant was excellent however the waiting staff were not overly friendly. Overall worthy of its 4 stars shame attitude of some staff members remain in the momory though.

Thank you for posting your thoughts, we really value your feedback, and I will investigate your comments regarding a couple of the staffs attitude! This is certainly NOT what Hotel La Tour is all about and I sincerely apologise. I am glad you still had a good stay and hope I have an opportunity to welcome you back to Hotel La Tour Birmingham. Kind regards, Jane Riley

Stayed here via work event last week. Check in quick and efficient. Room was large and comfortable. Lights and heating all touch screen via key card. Free wifi and a short skip away to the Bull Ring.
Bar was great for meeting up with colleagues for a quick drink. A perfect place to stay in the centre of Birmingham.

Stayed here to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. I have wanted to stay at this hotel for some time due to the positive reviews it seems to attract.

The hotel itself is easy to find and is literally a 5 or 10 minute stroll to the heart of the city centre. The immediate area around the hotel is going through some redevelopment and I would expect the buildings to be of the same quality as the hotel and other neighbouring buildings. Don't let the redevelopment put you off as it didn't impact on our stay once.

The hotel has it's own car park which costs £10 however you have to depart by 11am on the day of checkout. We were told by a staff member to park on Selfridges as they had a deal where you can park for £5 and don't have to leave untill 5pm on the day of checkout....bargain!

Booking into the hotel was an odd experience.....no use of the check in desk here! Instead there are about 5 check in machines. Pretty straight forward to use with the touch screen technology and once you have completed the process you get your key. There was a friendly chap on hand to assist us in the check in process.

The room itself was very smart indeed; swipe your room key and you're in. A nice king size bed, large flat screen tv, in room entertainment, digital interfaces to control the lighting and temperature, great shower, speaker system in the bathroom, kettle with tea's etc, and an iron. The only thing it was missing was bath robes, which was a bit of a shame.

We had afternoon tea at the hotel for £19.99 each, which may seem steep to some, but the food is good quality and you get ample tea, coffee and fruit teas. There was also live entertainment in the guise of a female singer. We were served by a very friendly waitress, I think her name was Nadine (?)....what a lovely person, down to earth, happy to help and was willing to have a little joke - a massive credit to the team!!!! We have had afternoon tea at Harvey Nic's in Manchester previously and we both agreed that this hotel beats Harvey by a good mile!!

We had a couple of drinks, with friends, at the hotel in the eveining and again the service shone through.

After a great stay came the checking out process, again using the automated service. Although this is quick and a bit of a novelty I found it too impersonal. I prefer to speak to reception who would normally ask how your stay had been.....and in this case it was very positive, alas the computer didn't ask me.

Overall, as you can guess, we loved the hotel and it's staff.
Would I recommend - Yes
Would I stay again - Do I really need to answer that one.

And as a footnote....I think a boy band by the name of 5SOS were staying at the hotel judging by the girls outside the hotel

Many times passed Birmingham on M6. If got off it was probably to go to Aston Villa or Edgbaston cricket ground. This week needed to stay in Birmingham. Impressed!

Stayed at La Tour, dead central, brilliant for shop, entertainments. That is if you wanted to go out of Hotel. Great Executive rooms, superb bar and restaurant, will be back soon!

Room Tip: We stayed seventh floor Executive, highly recommend

Went to this hotel for a reunion. It was central for people travelling from Scotland to Portsmouth. We arrived about 11am and our room was available, this was a bonus in itself as some places don't let you in until 3pm. Staff were pleasant at all times. We had afternoon tea and evening meal which was fantastic. Could not fault the food at all. Hotel was central and I would definitely return.

We booked an exec room with breakfast for this Saturday night at a good but not cheap price I telephoned before booking to ask if there was parking at the hotel and was told secure hotel car park on site £10 / night. We arrived car park was full and were directed over the road to the pay and display £5 all day behind hotel car park . But it was £5 for 12 hours so needed topping up at 5.48 on Sunday morning. We checked in but were told not booked for breakfast so out came voucher proof. We mentioned the parking but they were unresponsive. Rooms nice techno funky but could be difficult to fathom . When we returned from dinner we enquired again about topping up parking . Hotel car park now had spaces but we had shared a bottle of wine and if it was full with guests why were there spaces now. Lovely late reception staff agreed for night porter to sort car park for us. We had a super cocktail in nice bar lovely staff again and went to bed. In the morning the car park we could see clearly from our 7th floor room was half empty ( again why when it is for guests of hotel) this was at 7.30 odd for Sunday morning early departures. Breakfast ok not great needs more cheese fruit salad etc. It is a nice hotel but not worth the inflated prices, staff lovely management need work and valet parking would solve the initial issues. I love Brum I like the regeneration but make this lovely smart hotel special as it could be.

Thank you for posting a review about your time here at La Tour. Clearly we didn’t delight you as much as we would have hoped. We are building a product for our customers today and with this we are very open to listening to our customers and learning about what they think will make us the number one venue in Birmingham so thank you for your feedback. Kind regards Jane Riley

We visited here for an overnight stay after seeing an offer on Secret Escapes.

We found the hotel very comfortable and loved all the modern touches such as dimming lights in the rooms and sound in the bathroom from the TV as well as the ability to hook up your own music via Bluetooth from my iphone. The bedrooms are very modern and very comfortably decorated, the shower was lovely with a large rain like shower head and lots of space.

We found it difficult to find information on parking at the hotel on their website but there is a car park which is £10 per night and the car park is right in front of the hotel with screens all around so it is shielded from public view, which I found good as seemed more secure than parking in a multi storey or other alternatives.

The hotel has a very modern feel to it which I really liked, you can tell it has been decorated and kitted out well with good quality fixtures and fittings. They hotel had a singer in the evening which was nice although the drinks were expensive, but standard stuff in hotels really! The breakfast offered a good selection with cooked and uncooked offerings, fruit, pastries and a multitude of fruit juices in normal size glasses! I hate hotels that have tiny little glasses for their fruit juices which mean you need ten of them, its always been a bug bare of mine so glad to see they had normal size glasses!

It is within 5 minutes walk of the Bull Ring shopping centre and the city centre.

All in all a very nice hotel which I would definitely recommend.
