“great!”
Reviewed 29 July 2012

Great place! Stayed on the 14th floor and the view was excellent. The layout in the room was well thought out and there was plenty of space to move around. Breakfast was nice, staff were friendly. Good value.

easy to book, comfortable stay, nice room and felt nice and safe for a stay on broad street as sits a few steps up off the street , good value. New and modern and a nice addition to night time hotels, excellent value but wouldn't bother with the breakfast plenty there but poor quality produce , tried orange juice and bacon but left most of it. But for the price well worth it just for room, and hairdrier and iron etc great if in town for night out.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights 13th - 15th July. We stayed on the 11th floor and view was great. We actually booked an accessible room and the room was really spacious, bed was really comfy and very clean, bathroom was spotless and the toiletries smelt nice. Breakfast was nice, great start to the day were you can eat as much or as little as you want from a cooked breakfast to cereals and pastries. Breakfast seemed to get really busy from about 9.30am so get down earlier.
Staff were really friendly, happy and smiley and you could have a laugh with them.
The hotel only opened in May 2012 so the whole hotel was really clean and smelt new.
Great hotel for the price.
Close enough to the town, with plenty of nice food places nearby.
Broad street is were the main of clubs and bars seem to be so great if you want a night out.

Finding a double room with breakfast for under £45 usually means something basic but the Hampton offered more than other hotels at a similar price. We felt we got excellent value for money and would definitely stay here again. All the positives have been covered in other reviews - clean, comfortable, large shower and friendly, efficient staff. The 'extras' were iron and ironing board, hairdryer, tissues, moisturiser (as well as usual toiletries), two chairs, newspaper at breakfast, selcection of books in bar area and generally modern room.
We heard no noise from street or corridors. Aircon kept room cool on 2 very hot nights (end of July) but the humming was a little noisy for me - this was the only thing I wasn't completely happy with. The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from the canal which has a good choice of canalside bars/restaurants. We did look round the town centre and for us the canal area was the most pleasant.
We parked at a friends' house 4 miles from hotel and got taxi to and from hotel. Cost £5.50 each way so we saved on 3 days parking fee. Although, even with parking fee the total cost of stay would have been good value.

Stayed for two nights and couldn't fault this hotel. Room was spotless and lots of choice at breakfast. Bar and reception area clean and bright, staff helpful. Low price and brilliant value.
The hotel is close to many restaurants, bars, shops and a cinema.

Room Tip: Had room on fifth floor which was quiet.

A really new hotel. I stayed on the 15th floor with a great view. Every thing in the room was a good design and space maximised. So many electric sockets are great! Still learning the ropes but an excellent stay and great room.

Room Tip: Hotel is on a noisy road but the higher you are probably the better. Get a room at either end of the...
