After a mix with the rooms we were moved to 14th floor, great views and no noise. The public areas were too warm but room has air con so no problem. Comfy beds, good bathroom, decent breakfast. Cleaners working hard, good reception staff. Would use it again as it's a five minute walk from the Christmas market,

Booked this hotel as it is within walking distance of the NIA and great location. However, stayed on a Saturday night and the hotel was heaving! First problem, no room in the car park. Eventually got to Reception and overall impression was not good, the carpet was very stained and grubby. Next problem, I had booked a twin room but was given a double and told there were no twins available and that the booking agent I had used had made the mistake of reserving the wrong room and I should address my complaint to them. I contacted the agent who was great and got straight onto the hotel who eventually admitted that it was their fault but still no go with the twin room. After another discussion with the receptionist she did refer to the manager and they managed to find us a twin room.

Then we got to the lifts, nightmare, small, overcrowded, long wait, the list goes on. But, the good news is when we arrived in our room it was very clean and comfortable so were the beds and bathroom. Great.

Problems again at breakfast, they do hot breakfast and continental but could not keep up with demand, also there is a lack of seating, so lots of people milling around with trays.....

There are a number of other hotels in this area, would look at other options if staying in Birmingham again.

This hotel is ideally located for the xmas market and birmingham shopping area.
A leisurley walk to the start of broad street brings you to the start of the xmas market , then just follow the crowds aong new street to the bullring,do not forget the indoor and out door markets.
Now the hotel, on arrival take the lift to the 3rd floor reception, you cannot initially go higher than this until you get your room key as the lift from the 3rd floor upwards is a key swipe system (good security) .
The girls on reception are full of smiles and very welcoming, asked if we wanted a lower or higher floor room..tip. as broad street is the main social/nightlife area and you do not want noise then go high, we went for 15th floor, you can still hear noise, although not a lot.

the room was on a corner at the end of the corridor away from the lifts so no noise from them, the room is excellent very comfy double bed, nice shower and bathroom very, very clean.plenty of toiletries in dispensers on the wall, very good tea/coffee facilities. very clean room, better than a lot of hotels we have stayed at.

Breakfast , yes as some people have said in other reviews it can get busy, however, in the lift was a colour coded sign explaining when it was busy and when quiet so take note and get up a touch earlier, the food was excellent, plenty for all, and a special comment about the scrambled egg, normally in hotels i find it to watery for my taste here it is drier, therefore i enjoyed it (this is my personal choice others may prefer there egg more watery) .

now the staff well what can i say, every single member of staff i have had contact with has been smiling, very polite and helpfull, from the housekeeping to the manager, my apologies to the member of staff who was cleaning the inside of the lift every morning when i nipped out for a paper and had to go up and down in the lift whilst cleaning it..

every member of staff is a credit to the hotel, and it would be unfair to pick any single member of staff out as they are all brilliant...A BIG THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR STAY A TRUE PLEASURE..we will most definitley use this hotel when we come to birmingham next year in the spring and xmas

Room Tip: go for a high floor in the hotel, and away from the lifts.choose a corner room more light/sun.

We stayed here for 2 nights from the 6th December and couldn't really find any faults. Yes the lift can mean a short wIt and the breakfast are is busy! However, the positives far out way these minor criticisms. The hotel room was very comfortable and the bathroom immaculate with nice toiletries as an added bonus! There was plenty of choice at breakfast and we really didn't have a problem finding somewhere to sit. The staff we met were friendly an very helpful. Would stay here again as only a short walk into the city centre & would definitely recommend.

We stayed one night for my husband's birthday as we were going to the Classical spectacular at the NIA. Hotel is really nice, great location close to the town centre, room nice, great shower. Reception should mention when you check in that you have to swipe your room key to be able to choose your floor in the lift as we ended up going up and down a couple of times the first time but not a major problem. Only downside was even though we were on the 16th floor (great views over city so would recommend a high floor), there was some noise from a disco or similar which went onto gone 1am but if you were out clubbing this would not be a problem anyway! Breakfast has a good choice from cereal to full English, hot food is kept hot and replenished frequently. All in all, a good choice and would definitely stay again if we are ever back in Birmingham.

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best view of the City

Although a mix up initally with our room ( double room instead of a twin ) it wasn't a problem. Lisa, the lovely, friendly always helpful receptionist sorted the hic-up immediately. The hotel is clean, warm and comfortable. Situated within walking distance of the town and bullring. My friend and I have stayed here several time when on shopping trips or concerts. Give it a try, I strongly recommend it.
