a really good solid hotel. nothing fancy, but v reliable.
good functional breakfast.
sky sports in the room.
v good shower in a compact, very serviceable bathroom.
v comfy bed.
pleasant room. window didn't open though. no view whatsoever, could just see a wall. pretty good air con though.
v v v good central location.
staff were all extremely nice; all said hello whenever u passed them (but in a 100% natural, non-american way).

I recently stayed for a weekend at the Holiday Inn in Birmingham city centre. I t was one of the best hotels I have sayed in, i n a very long time. The exterior does not look like anything speical but inside is another thing. The hotel has recently been refurbished. My room was nice and clean and bright. Nice bathroom. Mini briege and playstation in the room.

The breakfast was a very nice buffet all ou can eat in cerials and english breakfast. Lovely freshly squeesed orange juice not the concentrated stuff you get. The hotel was perfect.

Stayed here for one night mid week. Excellent location , close to city centre and brindley place. Able to park in secure underground car park. ( lots of spaces). Check in was quick. Room was standard, but was clean, in good decorative order with a comfy bed and powerful shower. No bath, but for one night that didnt bother us. Staff were helpful with answering questions and ordering taxis. Had a really good sleep as it was great and quiet. Breakfast was included. It was continenental but there was an excellent choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, breads, muffins , croissants etc., Free newspaper was also available in the morning from the reception desk.

This hotel is excellent value for money ( £55), basic but has everything you need!.

i stayed in this hotel for one night while in Birmingham on business. It was immaculate. The hotel is leterally 5/10 minute walk from New Street Station. 5/10 mins is not long but can seem it if yo have luggage. Taxi fare was £3.00. The town centre and all the shops are about a 5 minute walk. Quite a few take-away shop thingys within a couple of minutes walk.

Check in was quick and the staff were pleasant and friendly.

Double rooms was of average size and had a large plasma screen tv on the wall which had few satalite channels. Bathroom was of average size.

Superb breakfast.

Will definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location and for what you pay for the rooms I think it is very good value.

You are right in the city centre, so there is only a 5 min walk to all the clubs and trendy restaurants, no need for a taxi if you want to go out, which is always good!

The hotel is very clean and tidy, and a very good base for staying in Birmingham. The breakfast is very nice and there is a lot of it- however no full English just continental! We visitied Drayton Manor theme park whilst we were there and it only took us about 15 mins to get there.

The only complaint I have, and it wasn't really the hotels fault, just a stupid guests, was the fact that the fire alarm started going off at 4.45am and we all had to get out of bed, get changed and go outside, but as I said it wasn't the hotels fault just a drunk guest coming back to their room and knocking the fire button. The hotel actually handled it very well, and we were back in bed within 20-30 mins.

All in all a good hotel, would stay there again if needed to visit Birmingham again!
