“Great sushi prepared with passion.”
Reviewed 1 February 2014 via mobile

We arrived early on a cold wet day and it was not a problem. It was my stepdaughter's birthday treat so we ordered a platter for 2 and two portions of sea urchin sushi, the miso was delicious with a subtle sesame flavor, the rainbow rolls were delicious also the rice was bang on in temperature and seasoning. Majec was the chef that day, he was friendly & professional he even boxed up what we couldn't finish with fresh garnish. Well done guys we will be back next time we are in Brum.

“Proper tasty Sushi”
Reviewed 18 January 2014 via mobile

Not too much to say. Cosy 6 seats sushi spot on the indoor market. Fresh fish, great colours, authentic location and fair price. Definitely come back. Thanks!

“Won't recommend to anyone”
Reviewed 7 December 2013

Food is good average sushi, nothing special.
Service is none and not friendly, the Chef got an attitude problem.
Price is pricey and you won't be full even after paying £20+.
Sitting area is crowded (even with only 6) and uncomfortable.
Never again.

“Fresh Sushi!”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

Love the sushi, it's really fresh and they even offer sashimi! Definitely worth a try on a trip to Birmingham. It is a bit pricy, but you're paying for the freshness of the fish! Will be back!

“Great meal.”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

Went in for lunch with a colleague, and we've been meaning to go for months. While it is the best sushi in town, I would really say it's the ONLY sushi in town. Birmingham is severly lacking in sushi joints. The one in Selfridges doesn't count.

It was a bit hard to find because of the vastness of the Market, but when we did find it we were seen to immediately, and as with any good sushi bar, the food is made in front of you so you can interact with the chef and ask questions. I'll forgive the fact that the chef was European-- he seemed to have been trained properly.

I had a variety plate - 2 prawn sushi, 1 salmon sushi, 1 tuna sushi, 1 octopus sushi and 1 eel sushi, with a tuna roll. The fish iteself was fresh, tasty and moist. The salmon in particular was dense and meaty. A miso and mushroom soup was also served with the set plate and was very warming on a cold day - and the best part, was not too salty. The mushroom really cut through the saltiness. The entire plate and soup cost £13.70, which isn't an amazing price for the amount, but worth the treat. It's not the greatest sushi I've ever had, but considering the other "options" for sushi in Brum, I'll definitely return for another treat in the future.
