“Delicious food!”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

We went on Mother's Day, with no reservation. They accommodated my party in the bar area. The food was amazing, all perfectly cooked, we'll worth the money. I would recommend this above all the dull chain restaurants in Birmingham.

“Good pre-theatre venue”

Two courses for two and a bottle of wine with change from fifty quid! Nice food, very pleasant staff. What's not to like?

“Ok food, nice atmosphere”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Convenient location for the hippodrome, a 2 minute walk. Nice atmosphere & surroundings but the food was just average. Menu wasn't terribly inspiring.good french onion soup but the lamb main course was too rare & chewy & tough, which was disappointing as it was the most expensive main course. Potato dauphin was salty & tasteless.
Not sure I would rush back

“Underwhelmed”
Reviewed 9 April 2014 via mobile

Had lunch here today and by reading the previous reviews it must have been a very bad day for Le Truc. Poor food and very average service. When asked if our food was ok we gave an honest answer stating it was all very dry and pretty tasteless and was given a big smile from the waiting staff and nothing to rectify or even feedback from the kitchen to us on what was an over sized overpriced sandwich. We decided to leave without a fuss never to return.

“Superb and friendly service, with a really buzzing atmosphere and excellent food!!”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

We were looking for a restaurant in Birmingham that would take a large group booking for our friend's hen do on Saturday 5th April. We needed one that was reasonably priced but was still good quality and one that had a great
atmosphere, Le Truc ticked every tick box!!
I emailed a month or so in advance to book and was offered the option of the normal menu or a pre-order menu, with 3 courses for £
25. We opted for the pre-order menu as we thought it would be easier to work out our party of 12's food payment when we got to the
bill.

The restaurant we really responsive to emails and queries about the booking, even ringing me a day or so before to confirm the booking.

We arrived quite late as we thought the booking was 8:30pm not 8pm, when we hadn't arrived by quarter past the restaurant called to ask if everything was ok, I apologized for getting the times mixed and they said it was fine to come at 8:30pm, and that our table was ready.

When got there the staff were excellent really attentive and friendly, catering to everyone's needs even without being asked.

The food was delicious and generous in portion size, I had the mussels as a starter which were delicious!!

As we had pre-ordered the food it was almost instantly ready for everybody after we'd ordered and got our drinks.

The restaurant was packed, with other parties of people which created a really good atmosphere and a real buzz!!

The waitress that served our table was really attentive, helpful and friendly, even offering to get our best friend and hen a peppermint tea when she felt unwell.

I can't recommend this restaurant enough!!
Thank you to all the staff at Le Truc, that helped to make our hen party weekend in Birmingham so enjoyable!!!
