Visited the pub during a shopping visit to One Stop shopping centre. The pub offers good beer and wholesome good value food. Staff are very friendly. Restraint area and toilets are clean.

Thank Andrew G

This pub is very biased towards students and villa fans after all it sports villa scarfs above the bar.
The one good thing about Witherspoon's was the lack of noise by that I mean music, fruit machines and TVs. Today to appease the Iager louts outside we were expected to tolerate two TVs on full volume whilst these louts sat outside. I personally left that's a lose of 7 pints, I went to the Tennis Courts which was far quieter.
The standard of management has gone greatly downhill, they havw lost all the best staff and have left a dim wit in charge
The standard of food coming out is rubbish often charcoal so hope you like it well done.
When the area manager attends you should em move

Shame these sites don't allow minus scores

Hi, I'm really sorry you left unsatisfied on your recent visit and would like to invite you back to see if we can be more welcoming to your needs. Running a busy pub is a difficult balancing act with regards to trying to be attentive to the needs of a number of different people. Live sport is something many of our customers enjoy with the sound on, but we now try to create a 'quiet zone' towards the rear of the pub to allow diners and those who are not interested in the televised event to relax in peace. This worked very well during the recent World Cup and will be the basis of our policy in the future. Hope to see you soon!

I visit here weekly in the morning. The coffee is great, the place is usually pretty deserted and the staff are friendly to the point of now being on first name terms with some of them!

The cake and breakfast deals are great value and the sofas are very comfy!

My friends and I are regular visitors here, usually on "Steak Club" night. The food is usually excellent as with all Wetherspoons pubs I have visited and the staff are pleasant. However,on several occasions there has been no mustard,English or French available, surely an essential on steak nights.I have On more than one occasion the sweet that I have requested has not been in stock.Apart from the issues raised, always an excellent night out

Thanks for the review and apologies for the late response! We always strive to improve our customer experience and have taken note of the stock issues you mentioned. We have now changed our condiments to bottles and mustard should always be available (it's a mild English one now, hopefully suiting all tastes). Please do not hesitate to ask for a member of the management team if you are unhappy with availability of food so any problems are noted and prevented from happening again. We look forward to seeing you soon and aim to have any issues ironed out!
