“They thought of everything”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

Amazing value for money, three adults for £69, most other hotels of similar quality were over £100. We thought that was going to be the best bit but on arrival we were greeted with a clean modern reception, friendly staff and a fantastic room. I spent 15 years flying all over the world living in hotels and I can honestly say for the rate, they've really got things right here.
Essentials they got right:
Aircon/Thermostatically controlled heating
Blackout curtains
Comfortable bed
Clean shower
Basic toiletries
Plenty of towels
Good size TV
Good lighting

Unexpected extras:
Radio alarm clock you can plug your smartphone or ipod into
Secure entry points to stairs and lift (requires key card)
Clean bright modern reception/bar/breakfast area
Cooked and continental breakfast included in room rate (and all very nice indeed)
Free gym facilities
Genuinely enthusiastic staff (from who we met)

We paid £7.00 in a taxi to get to into the city centre, I walked back it took me 15 minutes. There is also a tram stop less than a minutes walk from the hotel. Tesco express 5 minute walk up the road. Parking is extra I think it's a few quid but as we arrived after 6 on a Sat it was free for the rest of that night and for the next day.

If I'm going to balance this with some negative feedback it would be some occasional annoying noise during the night (I am a light sleeper), not anything to do with the hotel but some inconsiderate people staying in a room below.

In summary great value immaculate rooms helping to make our weekend away great. We will definitely stay again because of all of the points mentioned above. So often hotels miss something but not on this occasion. I genuinely believe if you can offer something that is fit for purpose, ticks all the boxes and is not over priced (like other similar products on offer), you will do well - people will want to keep coming back.

Thank you and keep up the good work.

The quality of this hotel far surpassed the price of the room. The room was large and excellently equipped, great little gym and friendly staff - for £49!! Have already recommended this to friends and colleagues and will use it again.

This hotel has plenty of good points: it's clean, nice decor, good location.

Unfortunately for me the bad points outweighed the good points: I could hear the unneccessary voice of the lift all night and hardly slept because of it. When I checked in the receptionist knew I was in a rush to get to my room and get ready for an awards ceremony but he worked extremely slow whilst the receptionist next to him checked in three groups of
People in the same time frame. This hotel doesn't have parking, the closest car park isn't far away but is just a piece of waste land and doesn't feel very safe. No drinking water in the room.

In my opinion Hilton should be ashamed to attach their name to this hotel. I've stayed in a lot of Hilton hotels and Double Tree by Hilton hotels and this just doesn't compare to those hotels. Not a Hilton as I know it.

Modern recently opened hotel. Well appointed rooms with all necessary facilities. A bargain at £49 per night including breakfast. Lounge area is very pleasant. My only minor complaint is that the dinner menu is very limited. Food is very tasty but a wider choice other than burgers and pizza would be an improvement. Chicken wings are good. Parking is in a pay and display about 50 yards away. I didn't experience any problems but i felt a little uncomfortable leaving my car there. On balance a good stay and I would visit again next time I am in town.

Hi pga66

Thanks for your positive comments about the hotel. As you thought the hotel only opened six months ago and it’s been a great learning experience. One thing we are currently looking into is a new menu, as we realise that our regular guests are getting bored with the same food each week. Hopefully next time you visit there will be plenty on the menu to tingle your tasty buds.

Kind Regards
Amy

The hotel is in a good location, not far from the station, also has the added benefit of having a tescos extra nearby. The staff were very friendly, offered help with suggestions on were to go out for a drink etc, and seemed genuinely there to help. The room was lovely, nicely decorated, clean and comfy. Overall a really nice place to stay.
