“Great but have a dress code please”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

Second time I've stayed here and everything was good except for a couple of things. The hotel needs to keep an eye on cleanliness and cleaning. There were hairs all over the bathroom and two mirrors in the room definitely needed cleaning (I did it myself). As an ex chambermaid as we were called then, I would have had to back and redo the room if I had left it like that. Also found hairs in one of the breakfast bowls.

The most irritating thing was the amount of people who came down to breakfast in nightwear (one girl barely had any clothes on) and bare feet....gross and offensive. It was the weekend of the wireless festival but that should not mean lowering of standards. It made for a very uncomfortable breakfast experience.

Nonetheless, the hotel is nice and the room comfortable. The staff were most polite and courteous.

Would have given it full marks but for the issues mentioned.

Good location, well priced, clean and value for money. Bed very comfortable with extra pillows and duvet available. adjoining rooms are pre bookable too. Breakfast had a good selection and was hot. Got very busy after nine but was still well organised check in and out was very simple and hassle free. Will return.

I travelled with children to Birmingham for the purpose of visiting cadburys world and decided to stay over the night before to gain an early advantage in the morning
To be honest I initially choose this hotel down to the fact it was really reasonable, £65 per room for 4 of us including breakfast
Car parking was unclear but is behind the hotel in a car park but is extremely cheap

When we arrived check in was swift and easy the reception staff seemed nice and friendly and despite being early we were allowed to go into our room, the room itself was extremely modern we had a family room which had a massive bed and a sofa bed and tea and coffee facilities, we overlooked the tram station but the other side of the hotel was a main road so I think it was the lesser of 2 evils,
One thing which isn't the hotels fault is the distinct lack of any where to eat in the area, we walked about 4 blocks both ways and only found one restaurant that look ok there were a few others that were shabby and run down and the takeaway Pizza Hut next door.
The hotel was reasonably quiet but like most hotels you could hear the doors slamming and people talking outside, we slept ok but the sofa bed was awful and the pillows were like concrete!
Breakfast the next day was ok I guess....wasn't topped up as quickly as expected but there was plenty of variety and it seemed fresh
I certainly wouldn't have paid more than I did for this hotel but for one night it was fine.

Premier Inns are my usual go-to budget hotel chain, but Hampton by Hilton has been winning me over recently with their classy decor, comfy beds, quality bedding and perfectly formed rooms. They appear to thought of everything right down to the handy laptop tray, plenty of plug sockets for charging phones and devices, an iron and ironing board, safety deposit box, great air conditioning and a proper salon-style hairdryer. There was also free wifi, and while it connected just fine to my main device, the phone was a bit challenging to connect so I gave up andused my own data service. It's a problem I've had in their London hotel too.

For a bargain advance rate of £58 per room per night I also got a complimentary breakfast buffet including a modest hot counter selection, decent juice & coffee and the option of toast, cereal, croissants, fruit, yoghurt and assorted muffins. All this in a pleasant breakfast room which turns into a bar in the evening. They even have workstations so you can enjoy refreshments while doing a spot of work on the laptop and even keep an eye on the 24 hour news channel at the same time.

Reception staff were friendly and professional and always happy to help. Rooms were reached by 2 lifts which were operated by room key - a nice security touch.

This hotel is in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, five minute walk to St Pauls Square area (Jam House, pubs, restaurants), and about 20 minutes stroll into the heart of the city and the attractions of Centenary Square, The Mail Box, Chinese Quarter and Brindley Place. Highly recommended!

Fabulous staff, luxurious rooms with all the toiletries you could need, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, laundry service, fully equipped gym. Nice little reception shop selling biscuits, choccys toothpaste etc. Free Buffet breakfast served up until ten and a free newspaper. Oh and free wifi...it's great for business or leisure. The best hotel at this price in Brum!

The hotel is excellent in every way but what sets it apart from other hotels is the friendliness of all the staff in the hotel, with a special mention to Komal, Sarah & Sarah and Johnathon. We travelled as a family of 8 people and stayed in 2 x triple rooms & 1 twin room, all were of a good size and had all the necessery amenities. Parking at the rear is reasonable £3.20 for a day & the Wifi signal is very good. The breakfast is super and we enjoyed a few drinks in the Bar in the evening time.

The hotel is located close to the city centre, approx. 15 minutes’ walk to the Bullring shopping centre & also next to the Jewellery Quarter and St. Pauls Cathedral. There is a Metro station next to the hotel and one of the best Indian restaurants’ in Birmingham is on Constitution Hill, 'The Hen & Chickens', just a 2 minute walk away.

We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Stayed here 2 nights with my family of four. Located next to the 'jewelry quarter', this is a quiet and efficiently-run hotel that also comes at a very comfortable price. Our main agenda was to visit the Cadbury's factory for my younger daughter and the hotel's reception helped us with a taxi. The breakfast spread was very good on both the mornings and kept us full till late in the afternoon. It's just a ten minutes by walk from the city center. Highly recommended.
