This is a modern apartment style hotel situated right in the middle of the city and within a few minutes walk of New Street station, with kitchenette, large armchair and very comfortable bed. I stayed on the 11th floor which was very quiet - the lift was very quick too. The room was spotlessly clean and incredibly well equipped including dishwasher, microwave, fridge, safe, double size shower, good wardrobe hanging space etc - it would be very easy to live here! Staff very friendly, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The social evening wine and nibbles were a great bonus after a long day and while waiting for a colleague to arrive. I didn't use the gym or laundry room but both looked very well equipped, clean and very new. I booked through hotelsclick and paid only £68 which was an absolute bargain. I will definitely not stay anywhere else in Birmingham and have already recommended to friends, family and colleagues.

Room Tip: Rooms on the top floors are likely to be quieter and have great views.

As others have commented the entrance to the hotel is in Corporation Street opposite House of Fraser, but the door is locked and you have to call to gain access. It took around 5 minutes before anyone answered and opened the door to let us in. This was the only problem with the stay. The staff were excellent. We were offered adjacent rooms, with interconnecting doors, which worked well. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very adequate and the location is excellent for visiting Birmingham City Centre. The recommended car park was a typically horrid affair, but was reasonably close to the hotel, easy to find and the cost of the parking was discounted.

Many thanks for taking the time to review the hotel, I am sorry that you have missed our push button to enter sign on the door and that have kept you waiting at the front entrance. We sincerely apologise for the delay in answering the door, and hope this will not deter you from a return visit. On a positive note, I am delighted that other aspects of the hotel is to your liking

Service
Staff is very friendly. We arrived at the hotel quite late and we were so hungry. Staff recommended some restaurants nearby the hotel

Location
Perfect. City centre 5 mins to Bullring

Room
Big, clean and wonderful

there is no minibar in the room. However, you can buy some drinks and snacks at the pantry and the price is so reasonable

I will definitely stay here again :)

I had not stayed in this Staybridge Suites before but as with other Staybridge Suites my stay was very pleasant.

The hotel address is in Martineau Place. Martineau Place is an easily missed passageway and the hotel door there was locked. The entrance is, in fact, in Corporation Street, opposite House of Fraser. The confusion may be increased by the name of an old business that is still present on the outside of the hotel by the entrance.

This hotel is in the heart of Birmingham, within easy walking distance of three railway stations. It was very quiet, with no disturbance from outside or inside the hotel.

The hotel has all the usual Staybridge comforts. The armchair in the bedroom was about the biggest I have come across in an hotel. There are plenty more armchairs in the lounges, called the “living room” and “den”. The “living room” seemed a bit more cramped than in other Staybridge Suites, with little privacy. So I retreated to the “den”, which was quiet and secluded.

The lifts were fast. Wifi was free. The bedroom had a wireless telephone, which I have not come across before in an hotel. The TV seemed to have the full range of Freeview channels. The large and pleasant bathroom was complete with the face flannels that are often absent from British hotels.

The staff were pleasant and helpful. I was greeted as a “rewards” members with a large chocolate chip cookie!

I have only two little complaints. The surface around the bathroom light switch was in in need of repair – filling and painting. And as so often in British hotels the choice of pastries for breakfast was limited to what I think were some kind of pain au chocolate. I suspect that hotels think these are more sophisticated than Danish pastries and muffins! I do not expect the French toast and maple syrup I would probably find in the homeland of Staybridge Suites. But a bigger choice for those of us who do not want baked beans or cereal would be wonderful!

Staybridge Suites Birmingham
Hotel : very new, kind of aparthotel, tasteful minimal style decor, everything was very well thought of, very functional.
Location : Just easy 5 minute-walk from New Street station. It's great for people who visits Birmingham without car. There're also a lot of restaurants, pubs, supermarkets around.
Reception : on the second floor, check-in and check-out was quite straight forward and fast.
Room : studio : ok size for 1, kitchen area was a bit too big while sleeping and sitting area was a bit too small, bath room was a bit small but functional, great shower gel, shampoo and lotion. Bed and pillows were very comfortable, bed was a bit short though. Lots of cupboard space. Free safe.
Breakfast : great, they also organized free social gatherings (didn't attend)
Facilities : good lifts, free gym and laundry (didn't use)
Wifi : free but slow
Staff : great, the lady who check me in was very kind and let me have the room at 10.00 because I had a 12 hour-flight.
Rate : a bit high but worth it

Room Tip: Tip : This is something between a hotel and an apartment. I would highly recommend this hotel, espec...

Stayed here with friends over the weekend of Birmingham Pride.

Great location, really central, but the current roadworks for the new trams keep taxis at a distance - be prepared for a little walk. The hotel is situation in a building that was previously offices, so the ground floor entrance is a little unconventional, with the reception on the second floor.

Great check-in, the staff, especially Stacey were helpful, friendly and attentive. There is a great 'shop' in reception, selling a wide range of food and drink - very much better than an over-priced mini-bar. Reception has a huge comfortable lounge with complementary newspapers.

Our room was exceptional, although only a studio, it was larger than a regular hotel room. The kitchen included a full-size fridge and dishwasher and all the utensils you could possibly require. The bed was huge and comfortable and the shower a full walk-in affair. The whole hotel was beautifully designed, there was nothing I wouldn't choose to have in my own home, every piece of furniture, wall covering and soft-furnishing has been given some thought.

A complimentary all you can eat breakfast buffet is served in a relaxed area behind reception, it is a huge self service affair with toasters and coffee machines - you just help yourself to as much as you like. A great choice of continental breakfast options is available along with some hot English options. It was great to have access to unlimited tea, coffee and toast without having to ask for it.

We stayed here on a friend's recommendation. Now I'll hunt down a Staybridge Suites hotel every time I travel.

A really lovely, quiet, relaxed city-centre stay - As good as it gets!

Excellent location if you arrive to Birmingham by train as it is only a few minutes walk from New Street station.
Breakfast was great with plenty of variety. Rooms spacious and had everything needed.
Didn't use the gym but it had a good variety of equipment.
