We booked to stay here for a special occasion, so opted for one of their more expensive business class rooms. We were excited to learn our room was on the highest floor of the hotel. The views were amazing but the positives stopped there. The room was so so dusty, and the bedding was dirty! I turned a pillow over and the case hadn't been put on properly so revealed horrible yello stains. Not nice! There were also many things missing such as robes etc. that should have been included in the rate we paid. We rang reception and asked to be moved, explaining why. They delt with this promptly, but there was no apology (which I would expect for the price we were paying!) we found some staff to be quite rude eg. At check in and breakfast. The cleaners and staff at check out were very friendly and polite. The room we were moved to was an improvement, and seemed to be an actual business class room as opposed to a normal room with a nespresso coffee machine added to it so they could charge business rates! The new room was cleaner (still not perfect) and much bigger with better quality furniture. Breakfast was good in terms of food choice, but staff were obviously stressed by the amount of people and showed this-not the best customer service-we didn't mind waiting it was just the negative attitude rather than being cheery on a Sunday morning that wasn't great! Won't be staying there again!

We were attending the NEC for a few days and decided to stay at the Radisson Blu because of its brand. That was a mistake! We checked in and tried to book a table for dinner to be told that the restaurant was closed on Sundays. After walking around the NEC from 8am that morning, we were tired and did not want to go out. We were told we could eat in the bar. We opted for that option and arrived to the bar at 8.15pm where we were told by the bar tender it would be 1 to 2 hours before we could get food as there was a function on. I met the manager on duty who shrugged his shoulders at my complaint and there was nothing could be done. So we were charged an inflated expensive rate because the hotel was full due to the NEC being on, but no food available. Its just not acceptable. The room was comfortable, and clean, we did not stay at the hotel for breakfast or dinner for the three nights were were there because of the bad attitude and poor customer care.

This hotel certainly does not deliver the wow factor ... The location is close to the bull ring as that's it ..

Check in was slow & the staff had no clue about the e standby by upgrades which you select via email after Pre booking your room directly on there web site.

The rooms are spacious BUT they have small tv, coffee machine with no instructions on how to use it. Free wifi with slow or no connection,no stereo or docking station. We were on floor 11 Outside noise was noticeable throughout the night so sleep was broken.

The lobby bar had no ambiance & the hotel generally felt cold through out.

The Filini Resturant may as well close down more staff in there than guests... Limited choice, over priced and who wants to sit at a window table to view the outside dirty ring road of Holloway Circus. We were presented with a bill for a table of two with added 10%service charge we must off been served throughout dinner by four different waitresses. Shocking! No wonder this place was empty.
Breakfast, again more staff than guests, hot food was cold& coffee luke warm.

Checkout was a complete joke the guy didn't even ask if we enjoyed our stay he was dis interested & did not even offer us a receipt.

With the strong competition around you would think a brand like this would be keen to keep there customers,Obviously not!!!
I will definitely not be returning ....this is a overrated hotel which leaves there customers feeling let down....

Never been to Birmingham before but as it was my 50th my husband booked us into the Radisson Blu as a surprise and wow was it a fabulous surprise. The reception staff were impecable....could answer any question I had. He asked if we wanted a higher floor which we accepted...room 1511. The view was exceptional...the Birmingham skyline....absolutely fabulous. The bed was H U G E and so comfortable!! The room had air-conditioning so could turn up the heat to make it toasty.
Everything was perfect. Close to everything...The Bull Ring....the Jewellery Quarter...China Town. We ate at the only Indian restaurant in China Town and it was exceptional. So much to do...so little time. Would recommend this hotel highly!!! Can't wait to go back!!!!

We had a very enjoyable Saturday night stay. Martin at the reception was very accommodating and provided first class customer service. The room upgrade we were given was a great surprise. It was fantastically spacious with a fine view of the Birmingham skyline. High quality bedding with exceptional German pillows. Lovely breakfast with much variety. No trouble from traffic noise.
A highly recommended hotel!
Looking forward to our next visit.

Just returned from a business trip in Birmingham. My room was fine (1104), good size and all the usual kit. We'd booked ahead so were surprised that it took so long for food orders to be taken, given that there was only one other table in use. We were a party of 17, and the food took forever to arrive. The pizzas turned up one after the other long after the rest of us had finished our main courses, but still appeared on the bill. Not recommended and expensive for what it was. There's a cost cutter round the corner for emergencies and china town is close.

We stayed here just before Christmas and took the option to upgrade our room. Whilst the rooms were clean and tidy, they are starting to look dated and need a refresh. The room was large and the bed was comfortable, however the heating was totally inadequate for the size of the room (1 wall heater). The bathroom was clean but every now and again you did get a sewage smell from the drain. Overall I wouldn’t pay to stay there again and have stopped at the Holiday Inn next door, which is cheaper and the rooms are Fresher and warm!!
