We booked a conference at the Aston conference centre and a number of us stayed at the conference hotel. The hotel is brilliant, rooms a good size, beds very comfortable, plenty of natural light, work space, free wifi, great bathrooms. Plenty of parking at the weekend. Great breakfast, bar food is as good as any restaurant. And the most helpful and friendly staff. The conference facilities more than met our expectations and the food was plentiful, with great choice and beautifully cooked.

If you want a city centre hotel at the weekend would highly recommend it and if you want to venue for a conference in Birmingham then this is the place. Great service from the moment the venue was booked.

We stayed at this hotel for one night whilst visiting Crufts at the NEC.
The hotel is easy to fin on foot and in the car but once you get outside it is a bit confusing. The hotel itself doesn't actually say hotel but has a sign saying "business school" We stood outside confused for a few minutes before we realised that it was actually the hotel.
It is literally on the university campus. The car park next to the hotel was £15 for two nights. We were able to walk into town in about 15 mins which was not too bad as the weather was nice but would not want to do it in the rain.
The staff were ok, not overly friendly but pleasant.
The room was an average size, bathroom had a bath which was nice.
The walls are paper thin! I think we were surrounded by about 100 hen parties as we were kept awake by screaming and cheering for a few hours.

The decor is modern and everything was clean.

We had breakfast which was average. In a buffet breakfast I expect more than one type of egg and some pastries but there were neither. Just bacon , scrambled egg, toast, sausage, tomato and beans. I think there was have been some fruit and yogurt but this had ran out and not been refilled.

I would probably not stay here again, I will stay closer to town to get to things easier. Very good for university visitors or people attending a conference at the uni.

Room Tip: Pre book parking close to the hotel. Look for the business school sign!

Thank you very much for taking the time to give us your feedback on your stay at the hotel.

We are keen to take your comments on board to ensure we are planning investment and developments to improve your experience in the right areas through development of our team and how we improve our facilities.

I'm sorry to hear that breakfast was not to as high a standard as it could have been, our chefs are usually able to provide our guests with specific requests and variety with how guests prefer their eggs. I will ensure this is passed on to our chef and restaurant teams.

We are also looking to improve the signage on the hotel in the future so hotel guests are able to find it much more easily.

I hope we can welcome you back in the future as we progress the improvements within the hotel.

Me and my man booked this hotel for 4 nights and it's terrible ! After the first night, we make sure we put our tag in front of the door let the cleaner knows that they have to clearn our room and we went down to the reception to tell the receptionist our room number and make sure get the clearner to make up our room. When we get back to the hotel at 9 p.m and found out our room havent been make up and clearn up. We are so dissapointed ! on the third day, the hotel powel suddenly cut off and during the night time, we wait for few hours for the hot water to shower becase they have some problem of the hot water !!! On our last day, we found out that our car parked in the car park is full of woods and mud because there have a cutting tree car parked next to us !!! This is ridiculous, we paid for £30 to park in to the car park and they should look after our cars !! Me and my man tryna speak to the duty manager and she said she is not in charge of the ''cutting tree car promble'' and she will passing on to another duty manager to give us a called back on monday or tuesday to give us answer! But now is Saturday already ! what a rubbish hotel, we will never ever going back ! Even a three star hotel is much better than that ! At least they will care their customer ! WE ARE SO DISSAPOINTED ! Birmingham is a nice place but this hotel make us had a worst holiday ever !

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide your feedback on your stay at the hotel.

I'm disappointed to hear that we were unable to provide an experience of our usual high standard on this occasion.

We have taken your feedback on board to ensure that we improve our communication to our housekeeping team. Should the door hanger be placed outside the room after our housekeepers have completed a particular area of the hotel, it may have been missed. This is certainly not our usual standard and if door hangers are placed outside, we ensure the room is made up. I'm sorry this was not the case during your stay.

Unfortunately, the power cut to the hotel was beyond our control, affecting all of the buildings around the hotel, we endeavoured to ensure communication to our guests was our key concern whilst the power was being restored, again, this is certainly by no means a regular occurrence and power cuts seldom affect the hotel building. The hot water issue was also linked to this as our back up generators are unable to provide power to all facilities.

Having spoken to our team regarding the tree maintenance adjacent to the car park, the majority of our guests had been able to move their vehicle as requested, whilst two vehicles remained. I'm sorry to hear this was not rectified to your expectations, even after a member of our conference crew had cleaned your vehicle for you to ensure any leaves and dust were removed.

We do take all of the feedback we receive on board and we will be looking to improve the areas you have outlined in your review. I am sorry that on this occasion your experience was unfortunately impacted upon by events that are not typical of a guest's stay.

The car park is a long walk if its raining and an extra £6! The room service menu is poor. The internet is free but slower than dial up. The restaurant is empty. The lift is out of order. The bar is cold and unwelcoming.

The budget rooms are very small, the bigger rooms are fine.

The place lacks atmosphere but at least there is a nice photo of the manager on prominent display in reception.

Breakfast is good and the breakfast and check in staff are pleasant and friendly,

It is no better than OK.

Room Tip: Premier Inn close by is better value. Campanille is very cheap if you are on a budget but it is very tired.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay at the hotel, I am very sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations.

We do take all of the feedback on board to develop our facilities, services and prices to ensure we are meeting the needs of our hotel and conference guests.

We have aimed to price our car parking to ensure it is lower than nearby city centre car parks to provide secure parking close to the hotel at a competitive price. We review this on an ongoing basis and will take your comments on board. We will also take your feedback on board regarding the atmosphere of the restaurant and bar to look at how we can make this more inviting and comfortable for guests in the hotel. Thank you for your positive comments on the breakfast and reception teams, we have passed your feedback to them regarding their friendly service.

We are currently making some improvements to the hotel which I hope will demonstrate that we take our guests' feedback on board:

We are in the process of upgrading our wifi with improved speed with an option of 512mbs available very soon.

Unfortunately, the lift was out of order during your stay, but this has now been rectified and we aim to resolve any maintenance issues as quickly as possible, this is by no means typical of our day to day service.

As an independent hotel, our Director is very much involved in all of the feedback we receive to ensure we respond and make the appropriate developments. We will be hoping to add photos of other members of the team shortly, to help our guests identify our team and put names to faces. I'm glad you like the photo, I'm always trying to convince Lucy of this, but I don't think she's a fan of that picture.

Thank you again for your feedback, I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel in the future to show that we have taken your feedback on board to make improvements to our services and customer experience.

Staying overnight for a conference in room 355. Quite a way to get there, loved the security of the place, using a key to access to floors.
Lovely room with refreshments including biscuits, comfy bed, room, free wifi, buffet and full english breakfast.
Shower didn't work so had a bath, though couldn't get the plug out.
Exceptionally clean, flatscreen tv with many channels.
Yes would stay here again
