“Good if you don't mind the walk”
Reviewed 28 October 2011

Nice hotel, rooms r clean, beds comfy, food good! Only complaint is no pedestrian entrance (we come by train), u can walk out the carpark the way cars come in, but each time we've done that the gate leading to the NEC carparks has been closed & the only option is to walk the long route following the main road (dangerous) or climb thru the fence round the side. We climb thru the fence but with suitcases it isn't ideal. Also, shuttle doesn't run to top carpark which means a 10-15 min walk to get the nearest shuttle stop.

Don't know why people complain, we had a really nice experience, superb helpful staff, nice comfortable quiet room, excellent value for money.I do think people should evalulate how much they pay for their stay, if they want 5 star luxury pay for it.

Myself and 14 others stayed at this hotel because we were attending a wedding for 5 nights and came from london and doncaster. we had 4 familly rooms 247,249,253, 290. all the rooms had a massive king side bed (bigger then king) and 2 singles pillows were great and beds, but also this hotel has been renovated which means everything is clean. also there is a tv lots of sockets, ac and tea and coffee facilities which is great and is refilled everyday bathrooms are extra clean with good toiletries like carex hand wash and imperial leather shampoo and body-wash. breakfast was also excellent they had buffet with masses of food like sausages bacon eggs(omelet, boiled egg, scrambled egg, soft boil) you can order also things which will be made on the spot for free included. also croissants and soo much more its proper english breakfast and also costa coffee . but mainly we choose this hotel due to the fact it has free parking.

Comfy bed. Good sized room. Tea and coffee making facility. Wi-fi access that you have to pay for, but at £3 for 24hour access, its not too expensive. Iron and ironing board available from reception. Parking is great. Breakfast, all you can eat for £8.

The only issue I have is not being able to charge restaurant or bar items to the room. This was very inconvenient having travelled directly from the airport on the first night, with no local cash.

Totally agree with previous review, good 4 the price but will pay extra next time and stop at novotel or hilton. Pipes banging above our heads, pillows awful & lumpy, defo no sleep! Can hear every person walkin past the door. Rooms clean & tidy. Childs bed hard. Food nothing 2 write home about. Dont go for the steak, very tough. Reception staff friendly 2 helpful. why do the rooms and corridors smell of sweaty feet. It was the same as another in gloucester earlier in the year. Return_nope.

Great budget hotel and very close to NEC. Breakfast was brilliant-we didn't need anything else other than a coffee throughout the day. Staff were brilliant - polite, caring, knowledgeable and friendly (and mainly local which makes a pleasant change). We did the meal deal and the dinners were excellent value for money. Rooms were very comfortable if a little warm as the air con system was being upgraded. Having said that, as soon as I mentioned it to a member of staff, we were immediately provided with a fan for the room.

The rooms are good for the price. Pillows were bad and caused us to loose sleep which is disappointing. Also the doors kept none of the hallway noise out and if you have a drunken bunch of people coming down the hallway at 1am you will be woken up and kept away until they find their room keys.

The restaurant has a good menu. Unfortunately there are only tables for around 10% of the guests staying so if you want a meal you have to book. No room service but they will allow you to order food to walk back to your room. Problem is that if they get your room number wrong (as happened in our case) then you end up with them trying to pass cold food to you and then giving you attitude when you express dissatisfaction at a cold steak and a cold burger.

The bar/restaurant entry is full of people drinking and as such the staff are only doing the bare minimum in customer service. Expect a wait to get served by someone.

Overall if you want somewhere cheap and can get a room for £29 then its what you expect. If we had paid anymore we would have been extremely disappointed. As it is I would not recommend eating there
