“1ST CLASS ACCOMODATION BUT BUDGET PRICE”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2010

stayed one night, we had 2 family rooms which were superb, lovely quiet area, great restaurant. The rooms are so clean and fresh and for £29 per night its amazing. Ideal for a weekend break if you are doing Drayton Manor and Cadbury's World which we did.

I was attending an event at the Hilton Metropole Hotel and needed a place to stay for two nights. I had read mixed reviews about the Hilton (although my friends room there was very nice) and decided to stay somewhere nearby. The Premier Inn had great reviews and looked like a nice place to stay. It is about 20 minutes walk from the Hilton or £5 by taxi. I took a taxi from the airport to the Premier Inn and it cost just over £8 for a very short trip which I thought was quite pricey. In reception they have automatic check-in machines. A friendly person at the reception helped me to use it to check-in and gave me a room on the second floor. The room was a nice size - spacious, clean, light, comfortable, relaxing. It was a nice place to come back to. You would not know you were near an airport because it was very well soundproofed, although I did hear some noise from other rooms one night. The bed was sooo comfortable. The shower in the bath was very powerful. My only slight niggle is, I asked for the room to be cleaned one day and when I returned that night it had not been cleaned. It was not a big deal though - new towels, tea bags etc had been provided outside the door earlier in the day. I paid £117 for 2 nights for 1 person through booking.com (charged at check-in) which was slightly cheaper than the Premier Inn website. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I was in the area and needed a place to stay.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Premier Inn Birmingham NEC/Airport. We chose this hotel as a base for visiting Drayton Manor and Warwick Castle (about half an hours drive (at most) to both. We stayed with 2 toddlers and our room was set up with a cot and extra bed as requested. The room was spotless and had tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen tv with freeview and a hairdryer. The bathroom was also really clean with a power shower that was fab. We had breakfast on both days and the food was great- a full range of traditional english with the usual range of croissants/cereals/fruit etc. The staff were really lovely- especially susan who works in the restaurant. She was great with the kids and was really friendly. We didnt eat in the evening at the hotel but a full bar and restaurant was available. We will definately return for any short breaks in the area.

Stayed 12 June, overnight before flying from Birmingham Int'l the next day. Very warm welcome, room was spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel, staff were all very friendly and helpful. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and that was really good too. Breakfast was fine as well. The only very slight gripe was a lack of skimmed milk with the cereal. Great stay for a great price - it could not be beaten

We were doing a little UK&Ireland trip with my partner and decided to stay in this hotel because of it's location.

It was a nice experience - check'in was nice, rooms were spacious and clean. Food wasn't exactly the best but still enjoyable.

Checked in for a one night stay (relative fly to Auz) on the 5/5/10 - Self service checkin we needed help as had probelms with 2 bookings the staff were brilliant - solved our problem. Room was perfect esp the disable room for my elderly aunt - both rooms spotlessley clean. Dinner was excellent valued so was the morning breakfast. But what stood out was the friendliness and politeness of ALL the staff from the resturant to the room cleaners. It was a refreshening and most welcoming change to have staff so helpfull and polite. Even on checking out - leaving ours rooms we asked by all the room cleaners we passed in the corridors if we have a good night rest and if the room was ok. Then they all wished us a safe journey. WONDERFUL WELL DONE

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2010

Booked this premier for £29 per might - and was quite happy with my stay, although I do have an issue with Premier Inn pillows - one is not quite enough and 2 is too high. Our room was really hot (it's only April as well) and we had to get reception to fix the air con, but when the unit was on was really noisy, and we had to leave it on one night as it was so warm.
We ate in the restaurant on our first evening there because we couldn't be bothered to drive anywhere else (there is no where to walk to for something else to eat), but the food wasn't overpriced - the service was excellent from the waitresses and the food wasn't bad either.
The is a nice pub about 2 or 3 miles down the road in a small town - cannot remember full name but started with Catherine (something like Catherine St .........) called the Boat Inn. Bit more pricier than the Premier Inn but still good standard and again lovely food and good service.
We were going to the Gadget Show at the NEC and there was a free shuttle bus which took you up to the door, but it was only a 15 min walk to the halls we were going to.
Solihulland Birmingham are both only a short drive away if you want to do some shopping. Solihull has John Lewis there and Birmingham centre doesn't, but does have every other shop you could imagine - it is massive!
The only downside to my stay was that on our last evening we were having a drink in the bar and sat on the chairs in the alcove just opposite the bar. I took my black Tommy Hillfiger Hooded top/cardigan off and forgot it and left on the chair - it wasn't there the next morning and I asked at reception who said noone had handed it in and was really disappointed as this put a massive dampner on my stay as I had got this top from my husband when we had been to Chicago previously, so I can not even replace it.
I would stay at this Premier Inn again, but be careful as there are obviously some dishonest people around re my point about my TH top above.
