This hotel is located near to the town centre/high street, so is great for exploring Birmingham.
We had room 201, which was to the rear of the hotel. There was some noise from the restaurant kitchen fans below, but no noise from the pub or outside.
The room was well equipped, with a powerful shower that I found did soak the bathroom floor somewhat, but that may have been me taking forever ha ha!
The receptionist was helpful and friendly. Cost was good too; we were surprised at how good this place was, given the price actually. Most central hotels were asking more than double what we paid, so to get a good nights' sleep at a bargain price was fab!

Room Tip: Rooms higher up will be quieter.

Incredible value for money, great location and an amazing room. I was just passing through Birmingham and made a last minute booking here. It was a bit tough to get to but other than that, I have absolutely no complaint. I had low expectations given the price, but they were exceeded in every way.

I was booked in from Sunday to Friday on a business trip. Arriving in the evening, the hotel is only a short walk from New Street Station, which was greatly welcomed as I had been travelling all day! Check-in was quick and hassle free, lift up to the 4th floor and into my room. I was pleasantly surprised to find a spacious, well decorated, modern room, with all the normal amenities. Bathroom was nice and clean and the shower was nothing short of amazing! It did leak onto the floor a little though. The bed was big and comfy and the pillows are very nice to rest your head on! Small flat screen tv on the wall. Plenty of choice with Freeview. Having the Wetherspoons downstairs was no problem at all. I didn't hear any noise coming from the pub, in fact, my room was lovely and quiet! The breakfast in the pub is nice and hot and the portions are great. I also had a bottomless filter coffee for £1.15! They had a "Steak Club", which included a drink for about £7. Steak was cooked as I requested, the peas were tasty as was the flat mushroom. A few more chips would have been nice, but I wasn't bothered. Good choice of drinks to go with the steak, I opted for Tuborg, which was crisp, cold and tasty. Really struggled to find anything to moan about, I would definitely return in the future and would certainly recommend!

Room Tip: Try and book a room facing the front of the hotel. The higher the better!

Without the prices and the things you pay for but don't use. Situated above one of Wetherspoon's city centre pubs it is ideally located for activities in Central Birmingham. There's no room service or gym but the rooms are well furnished and comfortable. A good and well priced breakfast is served in the pub from early morning until midday.

I stayed here a few years ago at this Hotel above Witherspoons. It was extremely convenient being close to New Street Station and to the International Conference Centre. Unfortunately the rooms were dark, poorly appointed and noisy, but the price was very reasonable

This time the rooms were wonderful, large, well ventilated and had been completed revamped with a desk, a leather chair and a very comfortable bed. My bathroom was bigger than my room and the pressure from the shower blasted away the previous night's indulgencies the following morning. My room was still a bit dark but not nearly as noisy. There was free WiFi and around 60 channels on the television

The breakfast was typical Witherspoons ranging from a fry-up to Eggs Benedict and all at the usual Witherspoons reasonable prices

The staff were extremely helpful

I would definitely return

Room Tip: A room to the back would be quieter as the beer deliveries are to Pub entrance in the front street
