Surly receptionist...Difficult to access the 'room only' on a Tuesday in October )... Cheap, uncomfortable sofa in room... Shower gel and hand soap in bottles screwed to the wall in the bathroom... Bath just plain difficult to get in (high sides and deep 'shelf' to get across)... Water ran yellow... No fridge... No air-con... Free water and biscuits (big wow)...Wallpaper coming off the walls... I could go on...
THIS ROOM IS NOT LUXURIOUS (despite being advertised as such)...
In future Premier Inn will get my money...

stayed here september only for 12 hours on route to holiday with myself and wife. Was i little disappointed with rate of this room booked 3 months prior on line but there was nothing for some reason available for this night under £150 near to airport so i chose this hotel as central to airport links. Reception staff quick efficent and helped me with booking a cab at 230 am next day. As usual all birmingham people staff cabbie bar and resturant staff are polite and help with anything you ask of them.

Room Tip: back off main street

Just visited Birmingham for one night whilst attending an evening meeting. Good location, close to the station and bus routes, but no noise, even though above a well used pub. Clean and comfortable room, fully accessible. I've stayed in good places, but at a very much higher price, but I've also paid more for worse. So this was convenient, great value, clean, quiet and accessible. No breakfast, room only, but that was what I needed.

Just returned from 2 night stay at the Briar rose in Birmingham which offered a ideal hotel for anyone who wants to be in the centre of Birmingham.Breakfast is not included in price but because hotel is connected to weatherspoons who offer a good and reasonably priced breakfast also drinks in the evening according the locals are the cheapest in town . Downside room wasn't cleaned properly on second night with tea and coffee facilities not replenished and beds not made also l would recommend that if you have long hair to bring your own hairdryer as the hotel one has a cut off and takes a while to reset.
if venturing out take hotel card with details on as taxi drivers in town centre don't appear to know their area .However disspite the down sides l would still recommend this hotel and would visit it again if ever back in Birmingham

While looking for a place to stay in Birmingham someone recommended the Briar Rose. The rooms were a really nice and a good price. The hotel itself could not be more central as its only a couple of minutes from New Street Station. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something cheap and cheerful in the city centre
