I stumbled on this place completely by accident last summer. Dragged here due to it proximity to our meeting and the rail station. On entering your senses are assaulted but the mad decor which is quite different in each of the three main bar areas. I was very happy to find a good selection of real ales, some of which I had never heard of before. The bar staff may look intimidating at first but are very knowledgeable about the beers and more than willing to give tasters before you make your choice, just ask, they really are very friendly. Good beer, good staff, good location. The pub also prides itself on its cocktails and ability to make them well. I returned with my good lady wife who confirms the cocktails are as delicious as they are lethal. I have not yet tried the (soul) food but it sounds, looks and smells delicious. It does give me another excuse to return, like I needed one.
