This hotel is very well located in the city centre and has a secure car park which is only £3 for 24hrs which is great value. We were able to park our car right outside our room which are all styled on American motel type building. The rooms are basic but clean, the shower pressure was rubbish but for what we paid it was well worth it and I would use this hotel again if visiting Birmingham for a night out again. Very friendly on reception too.

Ibis budget beats the other Ibis at Holloway head by miles, in fact would not choose to stay at that property again it is so different.
I like the fact that ibis budget seems to retain staff so there is a familiar face when you check in, also says something about the place as a whole that people seem to like working there.
Remembering that this is a budget hotel I dont think anything can beat it in that sector of the market: clean, safe, friendly --- the beds are now comfortable too which had been an issue in the past. It is perfectly located for both China Town and the Gay Village so there is loads of choice in food and entertainment on the doorstep but is far enough away to avoid noise.
Rooms are double glazed ( important if your room faces Bristol street.
New eating area is clean and smart, they still have the cheapest bread on the planet but the coffee is great even if it does come from a machine.
Its the sort of place that seems to be on the go 24/7 so has a fun buzz about it, all ages use it and all seem to be comfortable.
Seems like the lifts are sorted now which was an issue last year and got lots of comments on here
Parking is becoming an issue, when the carpark is full there is virtually no on street parking-- you have to go to the other ( less popular) Ibis to use their car park, several streets away.
The online booking for Ibis is a nightmare, it often breaks down and recently confirmed a wrong date-- the only way to resolve it was through the accor hotels facebook page ( such a bizarre way to operate)--- Ibis online are virtually uncontactable and if you do get anyone they are in France and are most un-helpfull. Thankfully the people on the ground in Birmingham are quite different and always helpfull, will be back there soon, have lost count of the number of times I've used this place which, for me, is very unusual because normally I like to be always trying new places--- just a case of "If it aint broke ----"

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the car park, this is the quiet side of the building

wifi didnt work
toilet is tiny
car park was full up and locked when i got back and was told it was ok to park in taxi rank outside, went out in the morning to find a £70 parking ticket

I love this chain of hotels, value for money, helpful staff, clean comfy rooms. This one was only a short walk for the centre of Birmingham, which was ideal. Would recommend and will definitely stay in again.
