“Nitenite - great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2012

Have stayed here a number of times on overnighters for work. Fantastic value. Many complain about the cramped nature of the rooms - personally, I don't mind in this instance as the pros outweigh this considerable. The location is literally within two minutes walk of the main city centre shopping area, plenty of good places to eat within easy walking distance and the hotel service and cleanliness are excellent.
Highly recommend and fantastic value.

Stayed here on a Saturday night (01/12/12) with my fiancée as we were meeting friends in Birmingham City Centre, we booked in advance on Hotels.com and paid £55 for the night.

We arrived at the Hotel around 12:00 but were told we couldn't check in until 15:30, we were able to leave our luggage behind the desk though.

When we returned to check in later on in the day, we were allocated a room and went up to get ready for the evening, I expected small, but the room was absolutely miniscule!

There must'be been about 1 square metre of standing space and the double bed spanned the length of the room. The wet room was big enough and the shower was pretty powerful, there was a kettle on a little shelf and a tiny little desk & chair.

The TV didn't work, contacted reception who sent someone up but they couldn't fix it either so we bartered for a free breakfast as they couldn't move us to another room.

If you're looking simply for somewhere to rest your head in the city centre of Birmingham and you're happy sleeping in a box, then you may consider this, but if there are more than one of you & you need more than a square metre of floor space in your room then spend a few quid more on somewhere else, or sleep on a friend's floor.

We won't be staying here again.

Cons:
- Cannot check in until 15:30, which is pretty late if you're on a short break over the weekend
- TINY room, not fit for 2 people, despite it having a double bed
- Very stuffy room
- Non existent soundproofing, you can hear EVERYTHING!

Pros:
* Central city location
* Decent attached cafe/bar
* Clean enough

Room Tip: Unless you're a solo traveller, choose a different hotel.

For my anniversary I stayed at the Nitenite hotel in Birmingham and I had a great nights sleep. The rooms are designed to be like cabins on a ship so they are windowless and quite small. Nevertheless, the room was equipped towels, soap, body wash, a kettle, tea/coffee, chair, table, TV and a double bed, as well as a wet room with an easy to use shower. It was quite close to the town centre, about a 10-15 minute walk and if you fancy a nice meal out there are a variety of restaurants just around the corner. But what really made this a great stay was the service. The receptionists were constantly polite, going above and beyond to make you feel like a valued customer. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a good nights sleep.

I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends as we were going to visit the German market and then onto broad street. We booked it not really knowing exactly what was on offer. Car parking is available nearby. This is secure but slightly expensive at £13.50 for 24 hours. But for a big city I guess it's not that bad.

On arrival we realised how good the location was for our intended plans for the night. The German market is just around the corner as is broad street. The reception area was smart and modern in appearance. The rooms are compact but well furnished. The beds can easily take two adults and it was comfortable.the bathroom was compact but yet again well appointed and sufficient. The bar was okay for a swift one before going out. Food is offered but we didn't have time to try it.

The value was good at £49 non flexible. You could book flexible for an extra £10. Overall recommended for a one or two night stay.

The hotel is in the center of Birmingham, just a 5 minutes walk from Victoria Square and 20 minutes walk from the coach station.
the rooms are small, but clean und in a good condition. The bed is very comfortable. The free WiFi interrupt some times.
You get a good velue for the price.
It is good for one/two nights when you need a place just for sleeping.

Stayed here for one night for Birmingham Pride - So the hotel was very busy!
The rooms are fantastic - a lot bigger than some of the reviews on here would have you believe.
Plenty of space to move around in. Great air conditioning unit, that because of the size of the room gets to work really quick!
The room was spotless and the wet room is really well designed and clean. Towels provided aswell - amazing for the price!!
TV worked perfectly, the lights could be dimmed which helped create a really comfortable atmosphere.
3 points I will make - The bed sheets, although spotless, we're definatley well used and some part had become threadbare or just tatty. Felt slightly uncomfortable using them but I could tell they were 100% clean so was happy to for one night!
The night security guard who checks everyone off as they come back (to ensure no extra guest) was quite rude and made a few people feel uncomfortable.
And finally the location isn't perfect if you want the city centre right on your doorstep, but for the price, a 20 minute walk is no problem!!
Would definatley stay again!!
(And would quite happily stay here for a few nights no problems)

Located right in the centre of Birmingham, within a few steps of the Broad Street restaurants, bars, theatres and galleries, and opposite a large and secure multi-storey car park, the Nitenite Hotel is a welcome addition to the hotel scene.

Rooms are small (three sides of the double bed against the wall), and most have no windows or natural light/ventilation.

Lighting is good, the bed is very comfortable, the huge LED TV has enough channels, and the complimentary WiFi is fast.

The bathroom has a powerful shower and good fresh towels.

The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

No elevator, which could be a problem for the handicapped or those with heavy luggage.

The small bar/restaurant/coffee shop is pleasant enough, and offers a good range of drinks in the evening or coffee/tea/pastries at breakfast time.

All in all, if you are looking for a simple, central, no-frills overnight hotel in the centre of Birmingham, this hotel does exactly what it says on the tin for less than half the prie of the nearby Hyatt.
