We decided to pop into the Barnt Green Inn after a walk in the local Lickey Hills. The location is great and outside seating facilities perfect for a warm weekend.
The manager was very friendly and other staff accommodating. The menu reads well and we were looking forward to our lunch. However, we were disappointed by the food once it arrived. The salt and pepper squid was chewy, tough and heavily over seasoned with a small portion size for the price paid. The accompanying Aioli was disappointing tasting like just plain mayonnaise. We also tried the sticky platter and were again disappointed, the lamb koftas were undercooked and the manner in which it was presented was not attractive appearing to be swimming in grease/oil - the accompanying dressings/dips would have been better in some dipping bowls.. On the plus side the fries were great!
