The restaurant was clean and the food served very fresh. The staff was very friendly and polite. Well worth a visit! I am definitely going back.

Had an acceptable indian meal here (Chicken Jalfrezi) a few weeks ago with a friend. For me the food was not as good as some restaurants i've been to in the city, not the worst i've had by any means but there are better options I feel for the price and location.

So; food quality ok, prices ok....Why only 2 stars? It felt as though the staff were tolerating you rather then embracing your custom which detracted horribly from the experience. This establishment is ticking over in third gear, it seems that the powers that be here need to find some inspiration.

Visited this restaurant with colleagues, on the recommendation of staff at a nearby hotel.
Despite the external appearance, the service, food and value for money were very good.
Although many of the other local restaurants were full of Christmas parties, Bengal Spice was empty at 8pm. Not a good sign we thought.
We have tried many of the restaurants in and around the city centre.
We were pleasantly surprised and found this restaurant better than the new-age Indian restaurants that serve small portions of curry and poncy pyramids of rice for £13.
This is the traditional type of Indian restaurant that has all-but disappeared from the city.
On a par with The Mint, if not better.
