“Lovely spa weekend”
Reviewed 31 October 2011

After a previous bad experience at the Village Hotel Ashton Moss I was offered a complimentary night with spa treatments and dinner at the Village Coventry.
The weekend could not be faulted, the spa treatments were excellent, as was dinner in the Verve restaurant.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a peaceful break- not much to do in the immediate surrounding area, but otherwise an extremely enjoyable stay.

I phoned the hotel a few days prior to our 2 day visit as I have to have gluten free food and have found in the past that this can be a problem with hotels, I was put through to the chef who was very helpful, made a note of who I was and when I would be staying, he suggested some dishes he could do for me and what I could have for breakfast. We arrived on Friday, booked a table in the restaurant and I checked that they knew I needed gluten free food, in the restaurant all the staff were very helpful, the chef came to see me to go over the menu, he also made a choc mouse for me (I did state I was fed up with just having a selection of fresh fruit salad or icecream as the only options for desert). The dinner was slow in service but that was because they were very busy, we were not in a rush so it was fine and I was just pleased to be able to have 'normal' food. Breakfast was just as helpful, they made sure I had corn flakes, bread and sausages that were all gluten free. Sunday morning was really busy at breakfast and the staff were rushed off their feet, but they still had time to ensure I had the food I required. I was really grateful for all their care ensuring I had a stress free stay and was NOT made to feel I was being a nuisance. We have stayed at the Village several times and I will definitively stay there again.

Stayed at The Village Hotel during half term visit to Warwick and local area. Had not heard of hotel chain, but got a very pleasant surprise.
Hotel is easy to find and has plenty of free parking at the front.

Hotel has restaurant, pub, coffee house, large pool and gym.

WE had our two children with us, and the hotel is perfect for families. My children loved the pool. Food in pub and breakfast in restaurant were very good. Rooms were clean with plenty of space and a decent sized bathroom.

A great place to stay for business and families alike. Strongly recommend.

Dear Reviewer
Thank you for your review, its great to hear that you were surprised with what you found especially as you had not heard of us before. Pleased that the children loved their time in the pool, my 3 year old daughter and her friends are regulars! It really is a great facility (note to self to get some photos of it on here so that everyone can see it).
Thank you once again and hope to see you again sometime

Stayed at The Village for 2 nights as part of a wedding party and pleasantly surprised given the location.

The reception check in was efficient but cold/none commital and there was confusion over the guests booking rate with reception charging full rate rather than the wedding guest rate. The room was clean and comfortable but would have prefered if the windows had opened a bit more than 1" as they were a bit stuffy. I thnk this must be a Health & Safety thing though and beyond the hotels control. The room card keys caused quite a problem for several of the guests and only worked on average every 1 out of 3 times which required quite a trek back to reception at one point we had 4 x cards to try but at least it kept everyone fit.

The best part of the hotel was the gym - it is amazing; the indoor pool and changing facilities were just as good too and everything was very clean and great staff too. The onsite Starbucks was good too and the staff very friendly. Infact the only staff that weren't very friendly were the receptionists.

The wedding service and reception was smooth and well organised but the food left a little to be desired. However the waiting staff were super efficient. Disappointed that the bar in the function room charged the wedding guests more for the same drinks than the main bar, and again diappointed when the main bar seemed to shut relatively early given how full the hotel was and that there was no mini bar in the rooms.

Breakfast was good but nothing extraordinary, the service however was excellent. One final thing - throughout the hotel were advertising posters that sort of remnded me of "kiss me quick" popart style posters, all a bit suggestive and really, really tacky.

Room Tip: Try and get a room not too far away from reception due to the room card key issues

Recently attended a party night at the Village Coventry. The 3 course meal was delicious, the show was excellent and this is a great place for a party/function/event. It was cheaper to stay the night than get a taxi home and the tasty buffet breakfast sets you up for the day!

This is a large hotel with huge car park with easy access from Birmingham and Coventry. There is a pub and restaurant on either side of the reception area and a Starbucks coffee shop. Hotel has a busy, continental feel - great ambience. The pool looked very inviting too!

Rooms are spacious with large plasma TV, sofa and the most comfortable king size bed ever.

Stayed with friends for a spa weekend which was great value. Rooms were modern and public areas were too. We did see a function room too which was a bit tired, but overall, a comfy stay with friendly staff and lovely food in the bar and restaurant.

Reading some reviews on this site regarding this hotel put me off but having stayed in the hotel twice in the last few months I can say that although some points may be true its not anywhere near like some make it out to be.

Using many hotels across the uk and staying in many of the main chains its fantastic to stay in a chain hotel which is so passionate about its brand and truly offers a great level of service at very competetive prices. This is my second visit to the hotel and its great to see the revamp its currently going through, the ground level looks great with its new look pub and stylish meeting area, it even has a starbucks which is amazing!

I've never stopped in a hotel with such a big leisure complex which may be used by the locals as written on previous reviews but its size means its never crowded, its clean and offers a great break from business trips.

The bedrooms are looking old compared to the rest of the hotel but it appears to be work in progress, yet my room was clean and well maintained and really comfortable even for a week long business stay. Let's hope that in time they get the same revamp as the general area's.

There's plenty of choice on the menu's and the food is good quality and really of good value for money.

The one great point for myself though is the staff, everyone at all levels is friendly and chatty and will go out of their way to assist you. Right from check in to check out everything is easy and relaxed yet still has high standards, none of this uptight attitude as in many other hotel chains.

There's a real buzz about the place, will definately look at using this brand again across the country not just Coventry.
