We booked a 2 night break for a romantic weekend at this hotel and it served its purpose. The hotel itself was in good condition and very pleasant, the staff were friendly and attentive.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night, the selection of food was okay but the wine was ridiculously over priced. It was a minimum of £26 for a bottle of wine, white red rose or sparkling which meant that the bill for 2 would have been at least £100 if we had wine.

I had a steak which was delicious, very juicy indeed and my partner had a trio of pork which was very tasty although the belly was slightly over cooked.

Breakfast was delicious as was the afternoon tea that was included in our package.

It's a lovely hotel and they were friendly but it would have been nicer to be a part of the main hotel building instead of staying in the extension - there were two weddings whilst we were there so we were accommodated in the extension.

The suite was spacious and luxurious with a lounge, fireplace, crystal glasses and a Nespresso machine. Nice views onto the most beautiful garden. Big big bathroom with a lovely, deep tub, separate shower and another fireplace. Bathrobes and slippers were provided. Some details were worn down, but our overall experience was very good.

Dinner in the restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Service was somewhat clumsy, but the food presented was simply delicious and of excellent quality.

Breakfast was excellent as well, and the senior ladies serving it were very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The suite was very comfortable and had a good size.

Literally just checked in as staying here for a work function. Place looks amazing and seems a lovely location.

Alas like lots of old places the rooms offered no air con. Alas being late July and hot asked for a fan as room was on the ground floor with window looking directly into the Orangery that had a wedding function, on phoning reception the attitude I received was one of really didn't care about my issues.

So as far as first impressions go this one had so much promise but really let down by a simple request of a fan or a room where one could open a window. For a hotel to be great it is the little things that matter.

Dear McGrevor, Thank you for your review. Your comments are very valuable to us as it is feedback such as yours that assists us in constantly reviewing our standards and quality delivery of service, to our guests. Unfortunately during this hot season period and not having air conditioning in bedrooms it is hard to keep up with the demand of fans, however I would liked the receptionist on duty to offer advise on opening the window. Please accept my sincere apologises for the shortfalls experienced on this occasion. I do hope we will have the opportunity to offer you a warm welcome back in the future.

We were at Ansty Hall as part of a wedding party and I can see why the Happy Couple chose this lovely location....the building and grounds are really lovely.
Our rooms were situated in an annex away from the main building which you come to expect as being in a wedding party, but the room was very nice and also clean. Paint could do with refreshing as there were quite a few scuff marks but that is just a comment not a complaint. There were stategic umbrellas at the entrance for use between the annex and the main building which were welcome the next day...great idea :) There is a good sized gravelled carpark which made it a little difficult with wheeled cases.
The wedding was delightful and staff were always attentive and polite, the receptionist stood out as cheerful and fun, some of the food servers could possibly smile a bit but they were efficient and speedy.
The rear gardens and public rooms are really beautiful, we especially admired the huge old tree (yew?) and enjoyed strolling around looking at the rabbits in the evening sunshine. Would love to go back for a meal sometime and we had a good nights sleep and a lovely day.

Room Tip: There is a separate annex to the hotel with rooms as well as the main hotel

I booked for 11 people to have an anniversary lunch on Friday 13 June. From when I first sent an email explaining what I required, I received excellent service. I booked the library for the lunch, which made it more intimate. Lunch was superb and we had fantastic service. As it was a lovely day after lunch we went outside and had a celebratory drink of champagne, later followed by coffee. Lunch was booked for 1 pm and it was 5 pm before we left after a truly wonderful afternoon. Thank you to all the staff for making our celebration such a memorable occasion.

First the plus points, good hotel and room was excellent and had good nights sleep. Downside was that service was hit and miss.
The receptionist did a good job and welcoming and again made welcome at the bar however it slipped down from there.
I had the impression that staff were too busy to focus on couples as they had a few larger bookings. Nothing major went wrong but small stuff as a few times a server would say they would be back in a few minutes for example to take our order or bring our water or bring us bread but they then seemed to disappear and as a result we had to chase for things. We had a few different servers rather than one looking after us and that may have been our problem. We enjoyed the food though.
In the morning I ordered boiled eggs (menu says to our liking) and I wasn't asked how we wanted them. The eggs turned out pretty hard boiled with toast to dip in to the hard egg.
Maybe on another weekend it would have been better.
