“Enjoyable stay”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

I have stopped at this hotel a few times now and the last couple have been a bit dodgy with the rooms smelling of smoke and the food not being edible, but this time I can honestly say that it was a pleasure to stop there.

The rooms my parents and myself were in were extremely clean, no marks on the carpets, wallpaper all intact, and were a good temperature to sleep in.

The food was adequate for the price that we paid for, as was included in the package holiday and was hot.

The staff who were on reception were very helpful and when I asked for help working out the taps for the bath, they stated they would find out for me and I had the answer when I returned from day out.

The only niggle was that there was very little hot water.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and all the rooms were spacious and clean.

Recptiobust vet helpful and friendly. Unfortunately thus hitel us not ideal or females travelling alone. This hotel caters fir workmen - its very tired toiletries are minimal, towels worn and rooms very cold - I slept in my overcoat and a chair behind the door. Near m42 but caters for a oecific clientele, sorry not for me.

Sadly this hotel has passed its best. It is very tired and is typical of its age the 70's. The room was adequate and the beds believe it or not were comfortable. We arrived to be be told the restaurant was now closed 8.30 pm. A bar snack was just available but be sharp they are closing too. The Orel was full with 4National Holiday Coaches. Sadly not h a happy night. Come on Britannia you can do better than this.

Room Tip: Wait till it upgraded

We stayed at this hotel as we needed a room for the night due to a night out in Coventry.

Be rest assured the reviews were very off putting and we approached staying here with caution, on arrival at the hotel the usual paint flaking etc were obvious.

We arrived in reception and were greeted by a polite young blonde haired girl, who was very informative and helpful and offered breakfast which we hadn't taken on via the internet.

The room we stayed in was on the first floor, it wasn't the ritz but it was a room. It needed a bit of modernisation ie TV and décor. However be rest assured, the bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful and provided with towels, washing liquids and extra bedding.

Look lets be serious this isn't the best hotel in the world and there are others out there that are much better. But.... if you search the net you can get rooms here for a snip, we as an example paid just £26 for the night on a Saturday too!

The staff were all helpful and more than willing to help any way that they can and I am writing this review more for their benefit than the owners benefit who could do with taking a note from customers, you have genuinely a huge project that if you did it up and just modernised it, you would fill it most weeks and make more money out of it.

My advice, yes stay at here but don't expect it to be modern like a premier inn or anything like that but as somewhere to lay your head this place isn't that bad.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 121 it wasn't bad, but a bit unsure of the pic of the woman on the wall lol

looked at reveiws before booking, and was a bit wary but booked anyway, when we arrived the look lived up to the reveiws and so did the rooms, but for the price what more do you expect?there was an heating problem but was sorted right away, the meals were good and staff work hard, the trips ( national holidays were very good) even though we had three different drivers, would we go again? yes we would.

Room Tip: pick a room were you can walk down the stairs as there are only 2 lifts.

Arrived as a mystery hotel booking with national coach break. Oh dear rooms in dire need of updating, paper coming off room walls, grubby carpets, tv from the ark. However very clean bathroom. Lounge area and dining area very very tired food in part good how ever keep away from soup, biggest advice thiefs operate in this hotel money and valuables removed from couples room during meal times during stay looks like pass key could have been used , police informed.one oasis in the hotel is the front desk staff who managed to sort out some problems.

Room Tip: Moved to room 623 better than first room a lot cleaner informed that rooms on 7th and 8th floor are...
