“One Night Stay 7th December”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

My wife and I stayed for one night on the 7th December, having attended a wedding in Coventry, It was the coldest night we have ever had in an hotel, there was no heating at all in the room, and the staff were most unhelpful to our request to have some form of heat, we being both in our 80's.
I would advise anyone staying there to take a hot water bottle, and wear warm clothes.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel. A group of friends met for a weekend away, we found the staff extremely helpful, they all did their utmost to look after us and made us feel welcome.I do not know the names of all who were so helpful, but feel all the staff deserve praise for their hard work over the weekend of 22nd - 24th of November 2013. I would like to give special thanks to the bar staff, David and Kayleigh, who looked after our group so well.

We returned to the hotel for the 3rd time for a group weekend away. As always we have found the hotel staff welcoming, accommodating and the weekend was one to remember. We are always made to feel valued guests and they ALL work very hard to make sure we have a great weekend.

While I do not know the names of all of the staff who were so helpful, and I feel it only fair that all of the staff be given praise for their hard work over the weekend of 22nd 23rd and 24th of November.

I would like to also give special thanks to the bar staff David Howey and Kayleigh Moore who looked after our group so well, the Reception team and to Charlotte Lindsay who was the event co-ordinator that helped arrange the event details with me.

The Crew of The Uss Corpus Christi who recently held our twice yearly get together at your hotel again had a wonderful staff, thanks in no small part to the hard working staff at the hotel.
Despite a couple of minor issues to do with Laundry and one rather unpleasant man who accosted a number of my crew because he was very drunk, the staff dealt with this guy in a very professional manor with minimal fuss.

While I do not know the names of all of the staff who were so helpful, I feel it only fair that all of the staff be given praise for their hard work over the weekend of 22nd 23rd and 24th of November.

We would like to also give special thanks to the bar staff David Howey and Kayleigh Moore who looked after all of us so well.

Stayed here on a 4 day National Holidays trip. After reading previous reviews were a bit worried about what it would be like. From the outside the hotel didn't look too inspiring. It's true that the hotel is a bit dated and could do with a bit of redecoration but the rooms we had were fine. Our rooms were clean, warm and spacious. Meals were buffet style and were very good. Soup and salad for starter then carvery style main course with a range of gateaux for desert. There was plenty of choice and a vegetarian option was available. Breakfast was the usual full english with cereals and toast. Bar prices were very reasonable. Only paid £99 for 3 nights with meals so overall was good value for money. Don't know what people expect for the price they pay but I was happy with our stay in this hotel.

Just returned from this hotel on a short 4 days break - some trepidation as reviews were mixed. However, we found the whole experience quite good. Yes the carpets are shabby and even grubby in places and the decor is dated but the room was clean, It was well lit and relatively roomy. One big problem was the lack of hot water. It was hot just briefly and thereafter tepid... We found the food to be excellent - all self service buffet style - overall it represented good value for money. Since the hotel is in a somewhat isolated location the lack of entertainment was annoying for some of the guests. We travelled with National and were only let down by a somewhat misleading holiday title - Birmingham and Ironbridge. We saw Birmingham, and Lichfield(which is an absolutely beautiful town with a stupendous cathedral) and wonderful mediaeval houses) .

Ironbridge we never saw - we were taken to a "Victorian Town" on the outskirts - the kind of experience you either love or hate and 5 hours was just too long and it was exceedingly disappointing not to see the Gorge, the Bridge, the Coalport Museum etc., many of our fellow travellers were truly disappointed with the day .On balance a great value for money break and we had good weather yet again.....Leamington Spa on the last day was also a very pleasant place.
