this hotel is quite poor looking from the outside. inside is a bit better, the bar/louge is quite comfortable and barprices are reasonable. the bedroom i had was fair if a little dated, though the
bathroom and shower were quite good.the quality of food was quite good.
general attitude of staff was a bit laid back.overall average to middling hotel.

Room Tip: choose 1st or 2nd floor -only 1 lift.

I stayed in the hotel on a monday evening. i arrived at around 8.50pm and checked in. I asked if the restaurant was open and was told yes. I got changed and went into restaurant at just after 9 to be told that it was now shut and they were setting up for Bingo! (i should've left then). We to the bar, ok apart from some guy playing music on his phone very loudly.

The room, where do i start. Hairs on the bathroom floor and in the bath, TV not tuned, and a toilet roll holder that was a bolt! The window was open, tried to close it but i think it was so mouldy it wouldnt close and the net curtains were so dirty.

It was akin to a 1980's bedsit. the furniture was old and very dated.

I have never put a bad review on this site but it was awful.

Room Tip: Avoid the whole place

National Holiday trip to the Cotswolds (Warwick Castle) stayed 3 nights ...Started off from the northwest .Two Drivers Bernard and Peter ... very pleasant drivers apart from peters jokes;-o haha ..went to Stratford upon avon on the way down which was good...arrived at hotel ..well what a ugly hotel ..booked in no problem .. staff very pleasant ... only two lifts ..wasnt a problem didnt mind waiting...evening meal buffet style. boring starters some kind of watered down soup and tuna mayo with salad (boring) and i also had a frozen plaice :( .. dont seem to be a restaurant manager . staff dont keep a eye on stocking up on food also plates seen loads of guests asking.. room ok ..clean and tidy we were on floor 5 facing the A45 Birmingham road ..very noisy ..best part of the trip was actually not being at the hotel.. didnt expect a 5* what we paid however the hotel failed on customer service.. My Rating for this Hotel.. 4/10 .. National Holiday Drivers 8/10 Value 8/10 Staff 7/10 cleanliness 7/10 would i go back to the Coventry Hill Hotel its a big No from me.. National Holidays i go regular on your trips however you really do need to sort these Britania Hotels out.

Room Tip: avoid rooms facing the A45 very noisy

For one night only was OK but the bathroom was tired, with broken shelf tiles and the handle to get out of the bath had lost some of it's metal coating. The beds were comfortable and being on the 8th floor, if I remember rightly it was quiet for the night.

Very cheap. What meals we had where OK. except one evening they ran out of food and residents had to wait another 30 minutes for dinner. This meant them eating at about 2030hrs at night. Often had to wait at breakfast for plates, but the selection of food was good and the fried eggs coudn't be faulted.
We ate out on two evenings at the Harvester Pub nearbye. The meals there where excellent.

The rooms are basic but ours was clean although other guests had complained. No heating in the bathroom.

The beds where firm and this we both enjoyed.

I looked out of the window one morning and thought it was foggy but on closer inspection the windows needed cleaning.

Lack of shower gel and soap.

But for the price I cannot complain.
