“Generally ok, good for a stop over.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 September 2012

It was cheap and comfortable. We had a good night sleep and would use as a stop over if required again. The room we booked (family) was unavailable, but this was not a problem for us as we were a couple. However if we were a family and needed the extra bed this may have caused problems.

You get what you expect with a Holiday Inn, cheap, reliable and ok.

We stayed here last weekend on a mystery trip (National Holidays) We have been on many a National Holiday and this hotel was great compared to the Brittania Hotels that National usually use. The Room was good, beds comfortable and the bathroom excellent. I really enjoyed the food, although the National "people" were placed in a dining area reserved for them which wasn't really necessary. Excellent breakfast and very fast reception book in. The cost of drinks though was rather expensive. Love to go there again.

National Holidays used this hotel for our trip to Stratford and the Costwolds. Our double room was smaller than other Holiday Inn Hotels and our evening meal wasn't as good either but I loved the breakfast - and the pool, sauna and steam room were all very good. The hotel has good space in the reception and is close to Aldi and many other shops and not far from the Show Case cinema.

I think the evening meal was specially provided for our coach party and I expect those dining separately enjoyed better fare. The worst part of the meal was the roast potatoes which were very dry. Becareful with these as there is the chance you might choke. Breakfast was a great experience with friendly staff, nicely laid out restaurant. The fried eggs were being cooked at the buffet and were nice and fresh, lots of fresh fruit and warm croissants too.

We had a very peaceful nights sleep.
Details of the spa, gym and pool are on the TV which was a great size and modern flat screen.

Room Tip: our room was on the second floor 325 and very peaceful. The hotel is mainly low level so we were on...

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my family including 2 children aged 3 and 9.
The hotel is nice and clean and the reception area and bar are airy and pleasant. The receptionist was ok but seemed unsure of special offers given to priority members (we had a discount voucher). This wasn't really a problem for us as we are very frequent visitors to this hotel chain.
The rooms are in need of an upgrade and look a bit tired especially the bathroom but generally clean and comfortable. The childrens beds are not very comfortable though.
We stayed on DBB rate and this was excellent value for money. Dinner was good with good choices and good sized portions. Breakfast was very good and service for both meals excellent. I would suggest self serve coffee though as the waiting staff are very busy and I like several cups of coffee in the morning!
We used the pool and this was great way to burn off the childrens energy and fill time before dinner. Towels and body wash are provided but take shampoo etc. Hair dryers are available in the changing rooms. You will need a £ coin for the locker.
Now for the gripe! MAJOR problem with the childrens outdoor play area. This is a lovely area with nice equipment totally ruined by smokers! there are a couple are tables and chairs which are used as a smoking point. The floor is littered with cigarette ends and the tables are just ash trays. THIS MUST BE STOPPED IMMEDIATELY!!! Don't get me wrong if people want to die in agony that is their choice but surely this is not the place to do it! A designated area for adults must be provided.
The hotel also provides a small room with a few games in this is a great idea and we used this a couple of times. I would suggest covers for the plug sockets though. There is also a wardrobe in the room used to store items used for conferences (water etc) this should be locked as little people see this as an extra game!
All in all I would recommend this hotel and would and will probably stay here again.

Helpful and friendly reception staff.

Good food in the restaurant with a decent choice. Restaurant staff very excellent but maybe slightly over attentive. I don't mind being asked once if everything is okay but three times in one meal is overkill. I realise that this is probably company policy but it is one which they need to review. Once is a nice touch, three could be irritating.

Internet is ridiculously expensive. £10 for 5 hours is ridiculous especially as it isn't usage time but actual time so you would need to buy extra time if you wanted to use it in the morning,

The bedrooms are clean and comfortable. The shower is fabulous, so many places have weak showers so it was a pleasant surprise to have a decent shower.

Breakfast was nice with a good selection of foods. I'm not a fan of buffet breakfasts but I suppose that it's a busy hotel so it would be impossible to cook each breakfast fresh.

All in all a good experience. I would definitely book again.

nice hotel , posh , very very clean .
i was suprisingly suprised by this hotel , it is very very clean , very big and all staff are polite

the rooms are very nice , although the double bed seemed rather small .

the swimming pool was good but it stated on door max of 18 ppl at a time, which if you think about the size of hotel and the members which use it , not everyone would be able to use it , but we did not have that problem .

the evening meal was divine

the breakfast was good as well

would def go back to this holiday in
