“Avoid!!!!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

I parked just over 15 minutes during the Check Inn and handed a £100 fine in the post.

When I arrived at Earslon Park Primer Inn, I had to wait for few minutes at the reception before any staff arrived. He did not inform me that I only had 30 minutes to move the car before I would be fined.

The staff only mentioned that there is a multi-storey car park next door for overnight stay which the driver have to pay first before moving his car to multi-story car park. There were not any option to pay by card so I have to call and it took me over 20 minutes to be transferred to a human to register and pay for the overnight parking at the multi-storey car park.

My room was quite far away from reception and there was no chance of me check Inn, drop my luggage and pay for the parking in 30 Mins.

I made a complaint to Premier Inn and the response I get was that it is not there staff duty to inform customer about the Parking. Really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another great stay at a Premier Inn. Unusually for Premier inn this hotel is a converted Technical College which adds character. Ate breakfast both mornings and ate dinner on first night, food was good and reasonably priced. 15 minutes walk into City Center or 10 mins to Earlsdon Village with a good selection of restaurants and bars including a Wetherspoons (always good value and selection of beers)

Very good service on arrival
Room large and comfortable very clean especially the bathroom.
Good TV channels, tea, coffee facilities.
Housekeeping staff very helpful.
Clean, comfortable.
Train station 10mins walk, some good bars and restaurants nearby. No free cash machines nearby, carry cash for parking £8.10 for 24hrs.
Great distance for NEC only 2.40 on the train and 10mins away, brilliant, no need to use your car.
Lovely little area with a Nisa supermarket.
Would stay here again.

Clean comfortable room, friendly staff and good food. What more can you want? Excellent facilities for disabled guests due to lovely large rooms. This hotel is within walking distance of the city centre and 15 minutes from the NEC by car.

Although a previous reviewer described this Premier Inn as a former hospital the art-deco motif on the portal says it was the Coventry Technical College. Whatever the history, yes it is a bit 'former institution' in feel, but now it is part Premier Inn, part theater (not a busy one judging by the list of coming attractions) and part offices to let. Suffice to say it is quite an impressive building and well worth exploring a bit, take the stairs not the lift down into the theater foyer for some quite interesting architecture. We were initially offered room 220 however this had clearly had a recent and prolific smoker in it (not PIs fault) although with sealed windows and a reliance on air-con sorting that problem out may not be easy. Anyway we were politely and quickly switched to a large and airy room (332) and that set the tone for an excellent stay. Through a quirk of building design footfall in the carpeted corridors resonates however our room itself was blissfully quiet despite there being plenty of other guests. Coventry is the world-capital of pedestrian subways and underpasses so coupled with an uncrossable inner ring road, accessing this PI on foot from the railway station took a bit of head-scratching, about ten minutes with a wheeled case as it turned out after some false turns, almost as long by taxi because of multiple traffic lights and road works. That said later on, once we figured out a route, we were in the town center in 5 minutes and apart from the obvious tourist attractions found a nice range of places for evening meals. As other reviewers have remarked, this PI is good value and in our case with the NEC just 8 minutes away by train it met our needs for a couple of nights in an affordable manner. Oh and 10/10 to Alfred on reception - superb assistance.

Room Tip: Top floor is ideal

Stayed for one night in May 2014. If you're looking for somewhere extremely practical, clean, and comfortable then look no further.

Check-in was done on a very swish-looking machine in reception, with a helpful member of staff on hand to point us in the right direction. The room was a great size for the amount we paid - I think it was less than £40 - extremely clean, too. Bed was comfy, shower was great, everything worked perfectly.

We paid extra for breakfast, which was also great value and really tasty.

Overall, I was seriously impressed with the value for money and experience offered by this hotel. Couldn't fault it and will definitely stay again.

Stayed 2 nights. This is a good location on the edge of town. You know what you are getting with Premier inn and this is fairly new so all is immaculate. We had an evening meal and full breakfast and it was all fine. As a deal for £23 each it was a 4/5. If it was at full price It's not worth the money. As a disabled badge holder I could park right outside with no charge which was a bonus. Normal price is about £9 a day. Only slight downside was the shower temperature running hot and cold every few seconds. Not a single incident but every time for 4 showers over 2 days. I'd say manageable. Disabled room was massive with walk in shower and generally a comfortable stay.

Room Tip: All good. Premier inns are uniform. No outside noises.
