“Nicely surprised”
Reviewed 3 March 2012

Stayed at this hotel for one night on a stopover visiting family. The hotel was very easy to find from the M6 and there was adequate parking, safely off the main road. The hotel itself is situated just off of a busy road but you dont hear any noise from the hotel rooms or facilities. We were greeted by a very lovely receptionist and although the travel booker had failed to book us in for the correct night this was no problem and we were accomodated with no problem. Our room as a good size and had a lovely little terrace outside overlooking the golf course. The pool and gym were very nice and clean. The hotel bar was lovely and we ate there at night, nice food and reasonably priced. Breakfast was the only thing that wasnt as good as it could have been. The bacon was far too salty and the selection of non cooked food wasnt great. However I would thoroughly recommend this hotel, good location, good facilities and very nice staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a little terrace looking on to the golf course

Have used this Hotel a number of times. On the A45 so you got Coventry nearby and the M42 the other way. The hotel is clean & warm and nice to chill in it's bar while watching Sky Sport . Pool & Gym again spot less not forgetting the golf course. A busy hotel so would book early

Situated right on the A45, to the south west of Coventry city centre and about 7 miles from Birmingham airport this Best Western was easy to find and had plenty of parking space. Staff were friendly and helpful without exception. Room size was OK, well maintained and decorated. and even though the smallest pull-out bed was a bit flimsy, everyone slept well. Food was pretty good in the bar, and unusually for this sort of place there was real ale (good quality) available too. The reasonably sized swimming pool was good too. Breakfast in the restaurant was excellent: generous portions and well cooked. Over all, a great stay.

A quiet get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Great transport links to Coventry and Birmingham, perfect for the NEC and NIA. Service was exceptional, food a little pricey in the bar but you pay for the quality. Free high-speed internet was an added bonus, as was the delicious breakfast delivered to my room. Would stay again.

One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in and I do stay away a lot ! The hotel is spotless throughout. Everywhere is tastefully decorated and the place is warm everywhere you go. Bedrooms are superb with tasteful furniture. The staff cannot do enough to help you. The evening meal was of very high quality for a reasonable price. Admittedly there was a slight delay in the food getting to the table, but I believe that was because everything was freshly cooked and meticulously prepared. I would not hesitate to book and stay here again.

Stayed one night as part of a business trip. First impressions were very good. The hotel is very well maintained and the decor is to a high standard.

The restaurant was nice and the staff were attentive and polite. The service was extremely slow and the food took an age to arrive. Our party of 15 or so were the only people in the restaurant. My main course arrived before my starter!?! There was some mix-up around my starter order being lost and an offer was made to take my main back while they prepared a starter but it took so long to get the main i wasnt interested so just took the main course. I had a steak but have to say it was nothing special.

We retired to the cellar bar which had a really nice atmosphere and a pleasant evening was had. A good selection of beers and spirits were available.

I had a room in the outbuildings and not in the main hotel. The room was nice with a good sized double bed with another single bed. I didnt rate the bed as it was far too soft and not what i am used too. The biggest downside though was the parallel A45 which was constantly busy. The room door was not very robust and therefore not soundproof. The traffic sounded as though it was passing the bottom of the bed - even with a couple of bevies to aid my sleep! Unfortunately combined with the soft bed a poor nights sleep was had.

Breakfast in the morning was 'ok'. A traditional buffet selection was available along with a few pastries and fruit juices. Nothing to get excited about at all. The pastries were not particularly fresh.

So to sum up i have to say the place looks great, i cant fault the staff (although the restaurant is slow) but behind the flashy presentation there isnt a lot of substance.

The stay cost me nothing as it was part of a business trip, but i would never consider staying here at my own expense and will recommend to our booking department that they book me into somewhere else if i need to stay in the area in the future.

Room Tip: Refuse any room that is not in the main building

Stayed here for one night and had a lovely time. This hotel is essentially a golf club with rooms. We had a great room with a view of the course and a balcony so we could watch the golfers teeing off in the morning.
We had food in the Cellar Bar in the evening which was excellent and very reasonably priced. The barman was very good and gave us advice on golf courses. We had a really nice meal and a few drinks in what is a really nice bar.
The rooms was spacious, the bathroom was nice and the shower very powerful!
Breakfast was the only ropey bit. Not really up to scratch, but we've had much worse. so I'm not going to knock the overall hotel experience for that.
We will stay again. It is possibly the only hotel worth returning to in Coventry.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the golf course view.
