I would like to thank you for your comments, We are located very close to the nec and Birmingham for all events taking place.
I'm not exactly sure how the hotel made any money from our stay apart from profits from the bar ( but even then the drinks were fairly priced).
We booked a 3 day golf break - 3 rounds of golf, two nights with breakfast and dinner - £150 per person sharing a twin room.
The golf course is challenging even if a little odd in design with the first 3 holes being par 3s but very enjoyable, even though it did chuck it down with rain! The greens certainly tested your putting skills with lightening speeds down the slopes.
The rooms were good if a little snug with a bit too much furniture. Good bathrooms though.
The 3 course dinner could not be faulted. Despite there being 16 of us (all fussy women) we had the full choice of the menu and it all turned up at the same time and tasted delicious. No complains from anyone.
Breakfast was pretty good too - loved the sausages.
Unlike other reviews we didn't find the staff particularly unfriendly - just a bit too busy to be overly attentive. The starter on the golf course was a lovely chap - he went down very well with the 16 ladies.
Amazing value and we all had a great time despite the awful weather.
The only thing that was disappointing was the drunken and noisy state of the wedding party in the hotel on the Friday night. The hotel did a good job of cleaning up some rather unpleasant deposits that were left by inebriated guests in the corridor. Fortunately the two wedding parties on the Saturday night were far more civilized.
I chose the hotel for a business trip mainly based around its 4 star rating
Nice hotel....shame about the rude miserable staff
I stayed one night at this hotel for for a business trip. The location is superb and a great view of the golf course can be seen from the balcony; however, I was not impressed by the staff at the reception. We did not find them particularly helpful or welcoming for a best western plus hotel. I had a single bed in my room which had a worn out spring mattress. I expected a good night sleep in return for my money. The beds at travelodge are much better than this. The rooms and bathrooms were clean with few broken fittings. We had few meals the restaurant which were not great but the restaurant staff were nice and helpful. The hotel offers free car parking and 24 hr wifi.
duty manager was very helpfull as we had a problem with the room on arival which he sorted imediatly.the rooms are great.the meal in the restraunt was amazing only let down was the service.staff busy nattering when we needed drinks.best meal ive had at a best western but worst service!
We stayed here for a night as there was a family get together nearby. The location is good if you are passing through or need to be near the main motorway network. Our room had a nice view over the golf course. The room itself was in the main building and was spacious but a couple of annoying things let it down – no shelf or hooks in the bathroom etc. The price paid for bed & breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. We made use of the pool which was quite and good enough for a short stay. The cooked breakfast was nice but there was not a huge selection of cereals & fruit. We would stay here again if the need arose.
