“OK..............I think!”
Reviewed 10 December 2013

We have stayed at this hotel a few times now and the experience is generally a positive one. It is convenient to visit our family and close to the town centre.

The check in was quick and efficient but covered all the 'need to know' things.

This time we had a studio style room which was comfortable and a good size. Previously we have booked a suite which might be worth the extra cost if you are staying for a few days.

We were unable to eat in the restaurant this time due to a function and chose to eat in the bar area. This was a mistake, the food service was slow, the order messed up and the food was cold. Had we prior knowledge of the function we would have chosen to eat out. On the up side the drinks service provided by the bar staff was very good.

Breakfast was great, as always, with a good choice both continental and cooked.

Check out went smoothly but the receptionist wasn't too bothered when we said about the poor meal service, not her problem I suppose.

We will be back but only after checking if there is a function at the same time.

Room Tip: Get a room on a higher floor.

I normally prefer to stay in this hotel whenever I visit Coventry, as it is quite pleasant, food is quite good especially wonderful breakfast and excellent customer service. Infrastructure in terms of internet and entertainment facility is also quite satisfactory, however, on few occasions wi-fi speed is bit slow. Rooms are quite well maintained, but bit small in size. Good atmosphere. Service desk is quite helpful. Overall I would recommend this hotel as the best one in Coventry.

Room Tip: In case if you would like to have spacious room go for double bed or suite rooms.

Once a year I attend a function in Coventry (not my fav town) and this year I stayed in the Ramada and I have to say it is a cut above average city hotel.
Reception is stylish and run more like a 5 star than a quality business hotel, staff are friendly and helpful.
I had heard that the hotel could be noisy at the lower levels due to its proximity to the ring road and was pleased to get a room on the 8th floor.Truth is you can STILL hear the traffic up there but to be honest it was minimal and did not keep me awake.
The rooms are large and well appointed with large desk, easy chair ,desk chair and large comfortable bed. There was also a massive flat screen TV with internet, films and TV built in, a keyboard is supplied.
A few features were surprising in the fact that they were included and some surprising that they were not. There was an iron, ironing board, tea and coffee service and 2 (?) hair driers but no room safe or mini bar.
The bed ,as Ive said, was very comfortable with a thick duvet but I did find this too hot and there was no substitute so I slept a little fitfully despite turning down the heating.
the bathroom was large and well fitted with a really nice walk in shower. there were ample towels and spares in the wardrobe. There was also a strange printed notice in the bathroom which said " bath mats are available at reception" I had an image of me standing at reception with only a towel round me asking if I could have a bath mat please!
Breakfast was not included and was charged at £10 but was of a high quality with plenty of selection although the staff were not very attentive. The breakfast area is a restaurant during the day and evening,I did not use it but the menu looked good if a little limited.
There is secure parking next door in the hotels multi story car park but at a charge of £5.50 per day.
Although the hotel is not within easy access to the city center there is a large selection of good quality eateries within a few yards of the hotel entrance so all in all it was a good choice for someone like me staying overnight so as to move on to a function next day.
Checkout was quick and painless and I paid 356 for the room. bottom line...Id stay again.

Room Tip: go high as possible

We stayed in this hotel on Friday night 22nd nov after a family funeral , we booked a delux room which was lovely , but the morning after is where the problems started , the cleaners start banging on door which were obviously empty in a ploy to wake every one up so they could get in your room quicker , the we went to breakfast only to be told we had not paid for a brekky which we thought we had and were told it would be £ 10 each , no thanks we went and got a lovely brekky over the road for £4 each , then one of the lifts we got in stopped at every floor even when no one was there so took 10 mins to get to the ground floor from the 12 , we are coming to Coventry again this coming weekend and were going to book in here again , but not now we won't be

Room Tip: Upgrade to a delux room and check you have a breakfast booked and you won't look stupid like we...

Pretty mainstream. Rooms are basic but comfortable, does need a bit of TLC, looking a bit tired. Breakfast here is excellent, you don't want for anything, there's even the opportunity to have a bloody mary if you so wish. We asked for a studio room on the highest floor possible because of the street noise. Tiny tip, always ask for the highest room possible, views of the City and no noise.

Room Tip: Chose the highest room, there are over 10 floors at this hotel, you get the views but none of the no...

We turned up late evening so when we entered our room there was a beautiful view over the city at night! :) nice cosy room, showers perfect and a great nights sleep! also theres a wide range of takeaways available on the other side of the road! would stay again! ;)
