I thought i would get away with my wife for the weekend. We stayed in the duke room and it was spacious with a shower that wakes you up not just dribbles over your head.
Breakfast was lovely, but what i loved the most was the views from our bedroom window. We could see three sides of beautiful sussex from the lovely Town of Arundel to the open fields and the river Arun is was truly picturesque.

Hanger Down House is such a wonderful place to stay at...It looks like heaven! The rooms are really nice and pleasant. Everything was perfect from the warm welcoming to the delicious full-English breakfast we had. The garden looked lovely and we definitely intend to go back during next summertime. I can highly recommend this B&B which is absolutely fabulous!!!

This B&B is in an idyllic location, we stayed in the Duchess room which was very clean, comfortable and stylish. The hosts were delightful and very accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. We would definitely recommend this to others and hope to return one day.

My wife and I recently stayed 3 nts in the Duke room (not during Goodwood) - the room was clean, had plenty of space and well decorated - the king size bed was very comfortable and a fridge in the room with jug of fresh milk is a touch that a lot of B&B's could benefit from (so much better than tubs of UHT etc) - the ensuite is very well finished and the powerful shower is a big plus

The breakfast choices were good with the cooked breakfast excellent

The location is such that it is very quiet (minimal passing traffic) as it is on the very outskirts of Arundel about a 5 minute drive to the town or a 25min walk/stroll to the centre

We have stayed in quite a number of B&B's and this one is very well appointed but the star is Alison who could not have been friendlier or more helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble

we would have have absolutely no hesitation in staying again or recommending anyone to stay there - a 5/5 star for everything

Booked this last year so we could attend the Goodwood Revival meeting. Having been caught out in previous years went to some length to get the room rates totally clear, but once again by the time we came to pay these had been increased by £30 a night. For £120 per room per night I expect a superb room and breakfast. The landladies in the Arundel area are profitering on the back of Goodwood. Hopefully their days are numbered.

The booking had been made by your daughter for a surprise present, with whom the duration, rates & contact details were recorded. I was saddened & shocked that there was a misunderstanding of the tariff when you came to leave, which is why I showed you the manual bookings diary, which clearly confirmed the rate of the room, total for 3 nights, entry for the deposit cheque and when it was received & finally the remaining balance. Your deposit letter, written 11/11/09, was also stappled to the page, which you read. As confirmed with yourself, there were no alterations, crossings out or any possible way of an alteration occuring to the original booking. I wish you had brought up that you were dissatisfied with your cooked English breakfast, of which you had three! I have a breakfast menu, where I offer numerous other cooked dishes but none of these were never requested!

On the way back from a short break in Eastbourne, we decided to stay in Arundel as there were several places that we wanted to visit. Hanger Down House Bed and Breakfast is an ""Oasis in a sea of mediocrity"

We resigned our selves to the fact that there are many B&B's out there who just do not hit the mark. A distict lack of cleanliness coupled with shoddy mis matched furnishings seemed to be the norm nowadays. Its always a dissappointment when the establishment you choose is portrayed in their advertising to be the opposit of what they say it is.
So it was with trepidation that we contacted Alison and Andy to book accommodation at Hanger Down House. Alison's, bright smile and warm welcome certainly got our hopes up right from the start.
After showing us to our rooms, we were left to unpack our belongings and enjoy a lovely cup of tea in our rooms. What a pleasure to be provided with Real Tea Bags in abundance, in clean china cups that were not chipped or stained. The fresh milk provided in the fridge was a real treat. We often feel let down and cheated, when you are confronted with a hospitality tray, containing the bare minimum the establishments owners can get away with, incuding plastic UHT milk.

Our room was beautiful. Bright and airy with superb views over the surrounding country side and Alison and Andy's huge garden that could be seen from every window. We were really relived to find that the furnishings were of a good quality and condition with an enormous comfortable bed for us to sleep on. When we checked out the bathroom, again we were pleasantly supprised and relieved when we discovered how spotlessly clean the hole place was.
Towards the evening, we asked Alison and Andy if they could recommend a local restaurant that we could go to and we were not disappointed by their suggestion. Being very knowledable about the local area and helpful with directions etc.

The next morning the aroma of bacon wafting up the stairs, got us up and ready for the day in no time at all. Breakfast was absolutely superb. Lots of choice with local produce and plenty too. Absolutely Top Notch. We particularly loved the locally produced sausages.
All in all we would say that this place is an absolute gem of a place. It was a priviledge to stay here and woulld thoroughly recommend this establishment to all.
