Yes saved by the residents
There was a plan to close this wonderful pool, as apparently there was a hotel chain
after it. and survey test piles driven to prepare for building
The residence certainly did rise up and overturn the councils leaning towards the
hotel developer. The backing from the Duke of Norfolk may have helped who had donated the land to the local council for the benefit of the Residence. The pool was an asset as there is a fast running river close by so the swimming pool and teaching locals to swim was important
The pool is nice with grassed areas with the beautiful back drop of Arundel Castle.
