“B&B plus extras”

This is right up there with B&Bs we have stayed at. The bedroom is average in size, but with great panoramic views taking in the castle. However it is supplemented by a very spacious and comfortable lounge/conservatory with log burner, which helped make up for the poor weather. Also access to a fridge (containing useful milk and water gratis) and a microwave. Very quiet, but with easy access to Arundel, once the busy A27 has been crossed. Plenty to eat for breakfast (poached eggs cooked with aplomb) and good to have fruit juice other than orange and grapefruit. An option of fresh grapefruit would have been welcome. Lizzie has got her customer relations spot on - very attentive without being overbearing. Why can't all B&B owners be like that, perhaps you could offer courses Lizzie?

Room Tip: Only two rooms to pick from. Ours, overlooking Arundel, was fine; cannot speak for the other slightl...

Lizzie and Paul offer superb accommodations in a beautiful location. Their house sits on a hillside and offers gorgeous views of the village of Arundel and Arundel Castle from both the Castle Room and the lounge area. All the rooms are bright, eye appealing and absolutely spotless! Beds are very comfy with soft fluffy and warm duvets. A heated floor in the bathroom was most welcome on those chilly mornings. Breakfast is a generous array of delicious fruit compotes, fresh fruit, yogurt, a full English breakfast, yummy breads and the biggest and best croissants I have ever had. Three different fruit juices and coffee or tea are offered. A cozy fire greeted us each morning. Lizzie made dinner reservations for us which was such a help. Our favorite place was The George Pub in Burpham. We enjoyed it so much we ate there twice in the four nights we were there. Lizzie and Paul gave us maps and all sorts of info to help us when needed. Put this B&B at the top of your list. Thank you again, Lizzie and Paul, for a memorable stay!

A mile or so off the over-crowded A27, its secluded location, overlooking the Arun valley and the town of Arundel, makes Nurse's Cottage the perfect South Downs retreat. Castle View was exactly as anticipated, spotlessly clean, bright and airy, and the view did not disappoint, Room facilities were perfect, a massive comfortable bed and fluffy towels, underfloor heating and heated towel rail in the bathroom,

Lizzie welcomed us with tea and flapjacks, and when we inquired about evening meal options, she not only recommended the George at Burpham but telephoned to make a booking for us.

All in all, one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in!

We spent three nights. We thought it would be the best B and B of our trip, and we were right. The house is lovely, tasteful and beautifully appointed. The location is excellent, quiet and peaceful with a lovely walk along the river into town. Lizzie and Paul were the perfect hosts, warm and welcoming, lots of excellent advice, so many thoughtful details. Breakfasts were delicious. We would certainly come back if we are in Arundel again. Thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: The Castle room is beautiful, plenty of space, lovely view, very elegantly decorated with lots of th...

My friend and I stayed with Lizzie whilst racing at the nearby Goodwood circuit. Lizzie could not have done more, from the initial contact, accurate directions to the welcome when we arrived nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful room with modern and tasteful facilities, the heated flooring was so welcome after a long day. Surely the best breakfast in sussex, great variety and plenty of it.
Would definitely stay again and recommend withoutr reservation.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose the Castle View room and weren't disappointed with the view. Lizzie greeted us with flapjacks and tea (fresh mint tea for me - bliss!) in front of the log burner and offered to book dinner for us the following night at The George in Burpham. She also offered to give us a lift there. The room was beautifully appointed, wonderful huge and comfy bed and I especially liked the under floor heating in the shower room. The breakfast was delicious, nothing was too much trouble. Lizzie and Paul are very gracious hosts and it was a delight to be able to share their home. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: The Castle View room is worth paying the extra for!

Visited with my wife and I have never forgot the pleasant experience. Everything was perfect:

1. Warmth of welcome: 5 out of 5 (actually Lizzy gave us a lift from the station as we could not find the place)
2. Helpfulness: 5/5 -- Nothing was too much trouble for our super efficient hostess
3. Neatness: 5/5 -- Perfect!
4. Comfort: 7/5 -- too cosy! The bathroom had a floor heater and excellent heating system. I could have spent the night there if the bed was not that much cosy!
4. Food: 10/5 -- Yes it was "that" tasty!

We booked the field view room, but our generous hostess offered the "castle view" (as it was unoccupied) for the same price which was a bonus!

Only negative is that its a bit far from the town centre and hence its a long walk if you don't have a car, but that barely counts as the location was beautiful and walk towards the town centre was breathtaking!

If I visit Arundel again, I will not search for any other B&B for sure! Thanks Lizzy!

Room Tip: Castle View room was excellent!
