“Good base to stay”
Reviewed 13 February 2013

We stayed here whilst attending a ghost hunt in the jailhouse in mid January (right in the middle of the snow storm!) and found it to be a really good place to stay as it's quiet enough but literally a few minutes walk down the hill to the high street. It's next to the cathedral and the church is opposite. We stayed in the rooms off the car park so can't comment on the actual rooms above the pub. We had the very end room which was nice as it sided onto the garden. Not sure how noisy it would be in the middle of summer though with everyone outside!? The room was clean and comfy and very reasonable for the £55 we paid. Would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: The end room was fine for us away from the pub door and siding onto the garden.

Accommodation was comfortable enough and clean, although it might be noisy in summer, backing on to the pub garden. The pub itself looked a bit past its best, and the menu likewise! Love to rate the breakfast, but it isn't served until 9am and the day we were there, chef was late arriving, so it wasn't served until 15-20 mins later. Unfortunately, we were late by then, too!
OK for the basics for a one night stay, but could do better!

A lovely B & B where doggy is welcome too. Room had dated decor but was lovely and comfy. Breakfast was gorgeous and extremely well cooked and presented.
The main pub has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and there are a couple of quiet nooks to settle down, read a book and just chill over a drink. The staff are friendly and helpful and we were made extremely welcome.
The pub is in a great spot for local walks and some gorgeous local shops.

Stopped here for lunch the other day and thought it was that good that it needed to be put on tripadvisor!

They specialise in sausage's and offer a wide choice, and the price was very good! also some good beer of tap!

Place was a bit rough on the edges but that's to be expected with an old pub,

Stopped in Arundel and stumbled upon this cute looking Inn. Quaint inside and out.
Friendly bar staff and made to feel welcome, good selection of drinks.
Open fire place but not functioning, and pleanty of board games to use if you were so inclined.
Menu looked good, but displayed in a tacky folder

Room was clean and all we needed for a one night stay.
Tea, coffee and tv with free view in the room.
Great for parking in arundel as everything is walking distance away. Especially handy as parking in arundel can be expensive and the council are very strict with parking rules.
Would definitely stay there again.

A perfect location in this beautiful town. Right next door to the R.C Cathedral with its dignified tomb to St. Phillip Howard and just across the road from St. Nicholas (C of E) with the attached Fitzalan(sp?)Chapel. Motel style rooms very comfortable and made parking easy. Our host, very helpful with directions and advice. Enjoyed a pint or two, dinner and breakfast in this very comfortable and affordable inn. Highly recommended.
