“Excellent value for money”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2011

Hotel just on the outskirts of Arundel so cannot walk into towwn, despite that the hotel was great value for money with breakfast included in the price. The hotel has been decorated to a modern standard but synpathetically with the age of the building. We had a double room with separate bed for a child but there was plenty of room for all of us. Great to see tea/coffee and biscuits in room along with a complimentary bottle of water, although one per person would have been better. Dinner was good for the money, nothing fancy but very tasty, with a good choice for children. Breakfast however was excellent the best we have had for a long time, very large portions despite previous customers comments.

Stayed at "The White Swan" in Arundel for 1 night 25th of February on our way to a family gathering, not expecting much quite honestly. What a surprise, lovely receptionist made us feel so welcome, as did the bar/restaurant staff AND we had a lovely meal.
We will certainly be back!

We headed down to the White Swan for a midweek, 3 night break. The receptionist who checked us in was very welcoming and within a few minutes we had our key and were on our way to the room. The room was clean & spacious, with tea & coffee facilities, everything you would expect form a hotel in this price bracket. On our first evening we ate in the Hotel Restaurant. The bar was quiet but with a good, comfortable atmosphere. The beer was well priced, local ales, very drinkable! The wine list was a little on the pricey side but the manager explained the costing and was able to knowledgeably recommended a good wine to us and we were not disappointed, it was well worth the money. The menu was not very comprehensive but there was enough choice. The quality of the food was fantastic and the portions were good too. The service was prompt and we felt very looked after. The manager even took us on a tour of the hotel and we were impressed with the wedding and conference rooms they have to offer, it is a big place (the kitchen is huge) for somewhere with a small, cosy atmosphere. We slept well in the room it was even a little on the warm side which was great as it was 3 degrees outside. The main road is right outside the hotel but we didn't really notice any noise at night. During the day it is a very busy we did struggle to cross it with our bicycles, waiting for a break in the traffic. For a winter break at a great price, with great service, good food & beer and to have somewhere warm and comfortable to come back to after a days cycling (walking/sightseeing) I can't recommend it enough! This was a last minute booking and at £55.00 for a double room with breakfast was excellent value.
The hotel is a mile from the exquisite town of Arundel.
The staff were very friendly and we were pleasantly suprised when we pulled up the outside was well 'lit' and welcoming.
There's a couple of things that need attention the bed was not comfortable and too hard.
If you like the window open you need to be ware that the road traffic can be constant and irritating.
Apart from that I would stay again and a huge bonus was a superb breakfast.

Indeed a night to remember.
I arranged my wife's birthday party for October here. (Not allowed to mention it was her 70th!) Thanks to ALL the staff here it was a great night. I could mention names, but in a Hotel as in other business's, The Owner/Manager cannot be everywhere at all times. They can give a good lead, but at the end of the day, it's down to all staff to do thier bit. If the maid who cleans the rooms had left hairs all around the sink, I would not be happy, even though the the dinner was supburb, the breakfast supburb, and the beer even better!. Its the bad bits you remember.
I speak as I find, and would have NO hesitation in reccomending this Hotel for it's staff, Its food, its attention to detail., it's averall service. All helped to make our party "A Night to Remember"

Great place to stay. We were there for two nights (one of those our wedding night). The breakfast staff brought us complimentary champagne!
The rooms are airy and clean and there is plenty of hot water.
We have stayed here twice now (1 year apart) and the staff remembered us and looked after us.
We would definitely stay again.

We stayed for one Saturday night at the White Swan in the middle of August. We arrived late but were warmly welcomed to the hotel - the room was quiet and comfortable and the staff all very friendly and willing to help. The kitchen stayed open extra late for us so we could grab a quick meal - the food was classic and nicely cooked. Slight noise from wedding guests in the hotel bar and function room below but didn't disturb us. We will return if we are ever in the area again.
