“Lovely homely B&B, spotless and comfortable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2011

This is a lovely B&B, I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are homely without being cluttered with ornaments and junk. It was neat and spotlessly clean. There were tea and coffee facilities and a sink in the room with a shared seperate loo and shower (some rooms are en suite).

All soaps, loo roll etc were topped up, everything was neat and very clean. The bed was really comfortable and I slept like a log.

Breakfast was in a wonderful country village cafe style room with full English, cereal, drinks, fruit etc. Or you could choose your own hot breakfast from any of the ingredients. My scrambled egg and bacon was absolutely perfectly cooked and a real treat!

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Even during the breakfast rush the lady never lost her politeness and willingness to please.

There are a few 'rules' like checking out on time or not eating hot food in the room which some people may find a little picky if they're used to hotels but they're all designed to make the next person's stay enjoyable too.

The tv in my room was an old style CRT one with 4 channels. I expect all the TVs will need updating on the digital switchover so you might get more choice after that if you want a quiet night in your room watching telly.

There are about 4 parking spaces and I think there's a big car park off the main road nearby.

Overall a wonderful B&B, very much recommended!

Arundel is a lovely town full of historical interest a wonderful castle. Many intersting shops, restaurants in the town and wildlife centre and the coast nearby. A good centre for exploring the countryside and the historic town.
Arden guest house is run by a friendly couple who run a very comfortable establishment offering a range of rooms to suit all tastes from singles to the honeymoon suite. The rooms have all the amenities expected of a B&B from soft fluffy towels, good showers and a traditional choice of breakfast. Parking is handy and safe at the front of the building.
Arden guest house is situated very conveniently in the centre of the town but not on a main thoroughfare so quiet as well.
We will definitely visit again!

I challenge anyone to find even the tiniest speck of dust or dab of grime anywhere in the entire building - the standards of cleanliness are amazing. My freind and I stayed in a twin room on the top floor; we did not have an ensuite room (they were fully booked)- but the loo was only next door & the shower was on the next floor down. I was a bit dubious about booking a room without ensuite facilites - but we were truly delighted with the accommodation. The lack of an ensuite was no problem at all and the lovely bedrooms and general high standard throughout - more than make up for this very minor Inconvenience. The rooms were well decorated, plenty of fluffy towels, beds were spotless and very comfortable - the breakfast freshly cooked to a very high standard

The location of the property is fab; just a couple of minutes walk over the bridge and you are in the centre of Arundel. The view of the castle as you walk over the bridge - breath taking.
I note one slighty derogatory review - but, just remember there are two sides to every story ! The 10am checkout is clear before you book . The early checkout - allows the rooms to be ready and prepared to an exceptional standard before the next guests arrive. Its a matter of courtesy to others. If you want to lie about in bed on the day of departure - I suggest you go elsewhere and let the earlier birds enjoy this fabulous accomodation - provided by the most efficient, freindly and helpful hosts I have ever encountered.

When booking accommodation for a race the anticipated criteria is a comfy bed and a good shower. These pointers were surpassed not only by quality and affordability but by the EXCEPTIONAL hospitality offered by the owners. I struggle to see how they could have made our stay any better.

From the moment we arrived, they were engaging and energetic, this did not waver throughout the stay. In order to give us the best start for a 8am race start, they put on an early and relevant breakfast and on our return, they allowed us the use of our rooms and showering facilities even though our 'stay' had expired.

It is rare that you come across such genuine thoughtfulness and in addition the nice touch of a family run business gives the place a very friendly feel.

I 110% recommend this guest house to anyone, whatever the purpose of your visit!

We stayed for five nights, had the key to the door and could come and go as we wished. The rooms were very comfortable, we could make a drink anytime we wanted day or night. The beds were most comfortable and I slept like a log every night. We enjoyed a three course breakfast including a full English main course every day. This was beautifully cooked by Terry and served by Ann. Our every wish was catered for including our use of the dining room for fish and chips and other hot food for our evening meal. Terry and Ann provided plates, cutlery and condiments. Our hosts were always available when needed and could be contacted instantly by ringing the reception desk handbell. Ann cleaned the rooms daily and provided fresh towels. All in all a B & B I would love to go back to.

We could not have been more comfortable or better catered for. Although they were strangers it was like staying with friends. A wonderful holiday visiting the Arundel Festival, Ann and Terry could not have done more to make us welcome. Always available when needed, ready to produce plates, cutlery and sauces for our evening takeaways. Ann had the answers to our many questions about the area. The beds were so comfortable and we enjoyed a good nights sleep every night. Both rooms were equally to our liking. The breakfasts were excellent, well cooked and tasty, offering variety and quantity to suit every appetite. Very clean throughout. Showers easy to use. Friendly hosts and always considerate of our every comfort; rooms had cooling fans for the hot summer days we enjoyed.
