I've stayed at many b&bs over the years (usually for treats rather than business) and so often the experience is spoilt by hideous decor and an obvious lack of pride and interest on behalf of the owner. However, Field View could not be more different! Bedroom, bathroom and the guests' very own living room are all freshly and tastefully decorated, and very clean (another thing often overlooked at b&bs).

Our host, Caroline, couldn't have been more welcoming. She is very knowledgeble about the area and was able to advise on all sorts of things, such as best pubs and restaurants, sightseeing, walks etc. The house is surprisingly spacious and an excellent place in which to relax and unwind, aided by home-made cakes and biscuits!

It was lovely to go to a Bed & Breakfast that felt homely while offering a touch of luxury and attention to detail. It's a long time since I had the opportunity to make my morning tea in a real china tea pot and with milk from a jug, rather than those horrible plastic things! It was nice and clean and the beds comfortable. The cooked breakfast was tasty -done to order and was not too greasy. It's a good base to visit the Sussex countryside for a bracing walk or a trip into historic Chichester for a bite or shopping. In the evening we wentby car to the cinema - something I haven't had the chance to do for ages!

I thoroughly recommend this B&B! I had a good look on the net at the B&B's around the Chichester area before booking and this stood out - and I definitely made the right choice! The hostess, Caroline, is extremely welcoming and even greeted us with a cup of tea and a slice of cake! She makes you feel very welcome in her home and will then leave you to enjoy the space. There is a guest sitting room to use so you are not restricted to your rooms which is a bit of a plus! All the rooms are decorated to a high standard and are kept wonderfully clean. The beds were very comfortable and lovely and warm and the power shower is very hard to get out of (because it's so nice!) Breakfast is served overlooking the garden and is lovely! Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, toast and a wonderful english breakfast! And the home-mede preserves were delicious! What really tops this B&B is the friendly service you receive and you really are made to feel at home! We'd definitely return if in that area again!
