Met some friends here whilst on a trip to Goodwood for the races. The pub is very handy for the train station and for catching the bus to the racecourse.Staff were very friendly and polite and there is a wide variety of of beers. Plenty of TV screens as it is a sports themed establishment. Food was pretty basic but reasonably priced. We were informed that food was not served after 5pm

The Globe is, the best sports pub in Chichester with a good selection of beers & well-placed screens which often offer a selection of games. As with all sports pubs, the atmosphere can get somewhat lively, but the management & bar staff run the place with skill & professionalism. The downside is the bar foor which is just downright awful. Most meals come with chips which are just about passable on a good day & taste of stale fat on a bad one, and the prawn baguette which I & a couple of friends ordered on our last visit tasted of stale mayonnaise, the "prawns" themselves being barely defrosted tasteless tiny shrimps. If the food could only be upgraded, the Globe would be a sports pub second to none.

Rooms were not en-suite but the prices charged are for en-suite accomodation in other establishments, lock on bedroom door was not secure, one of the toilet doors did not close at all, private entrance door is locked at the weekend so you have to return before the bar closes. Never offered breakfast which was paid for, when I stay in Chichester again i will give this place a wide berth.

Pub great and offers good food, however would never stay there again until it has had a complete make over! Realise it is cheap, but at £50 for the night that was £40 more than it was worth. Entrance through back garden, had a double room ensuite only didn't want to attempt the shower and smelt damp and dirty, could just about walk around the bed, but as for sleeping in it, am still suffering from back and neck ache, it was like concrete and creeked at every move. Hanging rail for a wardrobe and t.v. out of the ark (although picture was OK) but unable to watch in the evening due to the noise from the pub. We understood that the other rooms had to share shower and toilet, but on walking past the shower wasn't working. It is a great shame that this didn't offer better class accommodation as the location is great and the actual pub is fine but as for staying there...... well don't.

We needed a hotel in a hurry and did not have a budget. The Globe gave us just what we needed - somewhere for the family to stay that did not break the bank but was respectable, had good parking and very close to the city centre. The big screens meant that we could enjoy the evenings too. The rooms were small but we just needed to sleep in those. The breakfast was also good. We stayed mid week so the bar was not crowded. We would go back.

Great location next to the station but sign stated bed and breakfast. AFTER we paid , we was told breakfast comes at an extra costing. Had to ask for cups. No bin. Room dirty. Shared shower that we were unable to use as the door did not shut. No toilet roll in one of the toilets. Music boomed to early hours of the morning. Pub prices reasonable and great big clear screen. Staff friendly. Chichester museam closed on a Sunday. Great for those for us who live to go away on a weekend!

Rooms were reasonably clean if small, and cheap (£45 for a double). Shared toilet and shower facilities - probably what you would expect for the price - were clean and usable. Also very handy for Chichester station, which is a minute's walk away. No breakfast available, but again that is probably commensurate with the price.

The downside is the noise. First the busy main road, which the old, single glazed windows seemed to let through almost entirely. That's as nothing though, compared to the noise from the bar. On the (Friday) night I stayed a band played in the pub downstairs until around midnight, and it felt as if they might as well be sharing the room with me. To add insult to injury, the door to my room rattled every time someone walked it, as it did not fit properly.

So bottom line is, if you are staying, probably best to stay in the bar until closing time and have a skinful, so that nothing can wake you until morning.
