Description: Our passion for local produce at the Crown and Anchor is at the heart of everything that we do. In order to bring you the freshest possible seafood, we write a daily menu dictated by what our local boats have landed that morning. Whether it be Dover Sole, landed in Bracklesham Bay by the Crew of the Kraken, or fresh lobster picked by the Crew of the Toby Rock...we can guarantee that almost all of our fish hasn’t traveled far from the sea to your plate. Our drinks range centres around the real ales that we are proud to call Young’s own; we also have a range of seasonal guests and a wine list that encompasses all tastes as far as grapes, origin and style goes. For the drivers and health conscious, we’re frequently expanding our soft drink range and there’s always teas and coffees on offer too.

Truly a beautiful location but very disappointed. We sat outside as it was a hot day but sadly there were no parasols. We had booked for noon and ordered the fish & chips at that time so ours was probably one of the first orders, We also ordered the Seaweed with Tarragon Butter. The portions and presentation were good enough and the triple cooked chips were dry and crispy. The fish was the same on top but underneath the batter was under-cooked and 'doughy' which I left aside. The fish was fairly greasy and had little flavour. The minted pea puree was overly sweet . We anticipated that the seaweed at least would have a taste of the sea...wrong. I actually thought it was under-cooked spinach tagliattelle. There was not a hint of tarragon nor in fact any sign of it on the dish. We also left this aside. Our disappointment was made worse by the service. 3 different servers came within 3 feet of us in 3 minutes. Not one asked if our food was OK. Nor did they check on drinks nor, despite being empty handed did they attempt to remove our plates which were attracting incessant flies. It wasn't until a waitress brought pudding did we finally get asked about the meal, She seemed totally disinterested. I also expressed my disappointment when I paid my bill but just got a limp apology. Sorry Oliver you have a lovely place but it could be so much better.

I went with my 2 dogs and friends, food was exquisite, although the menu is mainly fish with no chicken options, it was full of flavour, both sharing platters were a mix of different tastes and nicely presented. Will be coming back soon!

Sunny Sunday lunch-time in June, slight breeze and not too many people there even though the dinghy sailors and paddle-boarders were packing up.
We sat outside and collected our lunch when our allocated buzzer sounded- excellent system.
Unfortunately my wife’s burger was dull and didn’t include the expected pickle; my deep fried sea bass was tender and delicious (inside) but oh! The batter was like cardboard, ugh. Curly chips were quite fun and the garlic mayo was good. Friendly service but not enough to give this the high rating its location deserves.

Thank VecchioJohn

The Crown and Anchor is certainly a popular lunch spot - probably because of the excellent food and beautiful setting. We went on a Friday lunchtime and every table was full. If you want an inside table booking is essential although there is a large garden there is no shade in hot weather (not a normal problem in the UK but this week it would have been!). Despite the fact that the restaurant was busy we did not wait unduly long for our food and were kept entertained by the view of the estuary out of the windows. The dressed crab was excellent as were all of the deserts we tried!

Nice views and very helpful staff. However. A beer and wine was over £10 a prawn and crab cocktail was £11 a crab pate at £8. Everything was about £2 over it's actual value. The fish and chips is probably the most over rated as the fish fillet was very small but the batter makes it look bigger. They cash in on their location and I have had better meals for a lot less

We try to offer a range of menu options for everyone coming to dine with us at Dell Quay, whether a delicious treat meal like our Selsey lobster alongside dishes for more price sensitive customers like our Burger and fries at £13.50 and our delicious Gammon steak at £13.50.
