A very warm welcome on arrival by reception - if only all hotel reception staff could be like this. We thought we were off to a very good start. The room was okay, not as good as expected for the price paid and a little tired in places. My husband and I booked into the spa for massages. His was fine, but my therapist looked bored and uninterested which spoilt my treatment. She was clearly having a bad day.The pool area was lovely, but any relaxation was spoilt by noisy children whose parents didn't keep them under control. Breakfast was excellent, service was very good and staff attentive.

Another great stay at Goodwood, almost everything up to the usual standard. Our meal in the Richmond Arms was lovely, the breakfasts were also very good but we were disappointed with our meal in the grill, not much choice, no specials.

Excellent service by the staff throughout our stay.

The room was clean and very comfortable. I think i was expecting a bit more character in the public areas but even though they were well decorated they lacked that real boutique feel.

Dinning experience was good but lacked something to make it really special.

Stayed here for a birthday treat. Lovely country setting a short distance from Chichester.
Reception staff welcoming on arrival. Was slightly anxious when on arriving saw large electric generator parked outside. This was interestingly only acknowledged when brought into conversation by us.
We felt the generator could be heard from our character room but we were informed that no other rooms were available which was understandable over the Christmas period however a little disappointed no apology offered especially as the room had been booked well in advance for a birthday treat.
Room itself large and very comfortable, bathroom superb. Felt due to hotel being so busy this did show as housekeeping never returned when asked to as arrived rather early at 5:30 and room still had paper work from previous guest in welcome info. So felt those extra touches expected of a 4 star hotel slightly lacking.
However dining at the Richmond Arms was fantastic the staff were attentive and the food superb both the evening meal and breakfast, both times faultless and would happily return again to sample the food.
Overall a lovely hotel with lots of facilities to sample and would highly recommend the Richmond Arm Restaurant but felt those little final touches which can make all the difference when promoting as a 4/5 star hotel lacked but this possibly due to being so busy.

We wanted somewhere special to stay and celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were so glad we chose The Goodwood Hotel. The staff were all very friendly particularly the group of ladies at the golf desk. The room was simply fantastic with lovely touches of quality chocolates and nightly post cards detailing the weather forecasts added to a scrumptious bed with the softest pillows. The food overall was very good although the Rib Eye steak was a bit of a let down. We will definitely look to return and strongly recommend it to others; something I don't do lightly.

My husband chose this hotel so that the two of us could celebrate his 'special' birthday. He had booked a suite which was very comfortable indeed, even down to the Moulton Brown toiletries in the bathroom. We ate in the Richmond Arms where the food was superb. Being the festive season the hotel and the Richmond Arms were beautifully adorned with trees and lights everywhere except the reception area, which was looking very bland. A roaring fire and a beautiful tree would have done wonders to impress the guests as they arrived but this was a minor point as overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Well done to the staff who were very courteous and efficient without being intrusive.

We always enjoy our stay at this hotel. Lovely welcoming team on Reception who cannot do enough for you. Only disappointment was our room was miles away from the entrance and in our bathroom the taps were falling off the wall. A few maintenance issues that need urgent sorting!

The bar was another small problem! The hotel was at 100% occupancy and when we got into the bar there was only one server on duty - unsurprisingly it was packed with nowhere to sit. We were happy to be patient but there were some customers getting exceedingly grumpy. The hotel should really have staffed up as this large group of guests were not unexpected. However on the plus size the price of a glass of champagne was fantastic value!

Breakfast was as always delcious - where do they get their sausages - they are amazing!! Fabulous service.

Room Tip: Try to get a room closer to Reception. It is a long way to carry the bags otherwise!
