I have stayed here on business a few times in 2013. The place is like an old folks home! There is a lengthy walk to your bedrooms and even worse if you are upstairs. The bedrooms themselves are a bit hit and miss, some of them are shabby with worn carpet and some are quite new. I know there has been a re-furb happening, but that's mostly the upstairs rooms that have had the re-furb. There is no lift in this hotel. There is a gym and a small pool. The food is quite average, decent variety to be fair. The staff are lovely and there is lots of parking.

Room Tip: Choose rooms on the second floor.

Stayed here for a family funeral. The hotel was excellent at a very sad time. Hotel was spotless, bedrooms roomy and quiet and food nice and hot and plentiful. All staff were smiling welcoming and nothing was any trouble. Will definitely be staying here again when visiting Chichester, Can not be faulted.

Booked for New Year Eve with friends, have been twice before a couple of years ago. Hotel room very comfortable and clean, meals was ok!! BUT THE LIVE BAND!!! well not sure if they were alive!! not up to the standard of the live band "Cheesecutters" that played at this hotel on our last visits. SHAME!!

We visited this hotel using the Christmas 3 night package & found our room clean, well equiped comfotable and quiet. There was plenty of bar and lounge area for relaxing also a large games room equiped with table tennis Wii snooker etc etc.and a swimming pool. The Christmas full board meals were all excellent as were the service and entertainment. We are usually in a hotel over Christmas but have never been tempted to return, but next year well might.

We had our company Christmas meal alas standards have changed - staff very stern and not talking or smiling but the most disappointing thing was the food. Roast beef tested your teeth and no I don't have dentures! As for the trifle - how on earth can a trifle have no flavour?? I was lucky and found two raspberries in mine but most of my colleagues only had one and that was it for the fruit content, jelly totally tasteless, custard same, cream not really any taste but different texture in the mouth and I think it was sprinkled with almonds but yet again no taste. If the company wants to go there again in 2014, think I save my money and stay at work. One thing did taste nice - the packet of biscuits - fruit & lemon, they were yummy.

Ample car parking spaces around the hotel. Staff at reception were helpful. The breakfast was okay but can't say excellent. The rooms were clean. The mattress and pillows were of good quality. Sleep quality was good unlike some of the hotels where one can get disturbed by other residents talking. Unfortunately the heating was little on the lower side even though I turned the know to the maximum. This did not bother me much but might affect some people. I stayed in room 110.
The hotel has a swimming pool and also gym but unfortunately I did not use.

The hotel itself is very tired, I'm sure there is constant investment in hotels but a severe lack of care has been given to it's décor. The décor can completely change a perception a customer has on the environment they find themselves in particularly in hospitality. There was a wedding when I stayed, with a blue theme, I presume this hotel charges rock bottom prices as the colour and décor of the function room is awful and clashed, and would clash with the majority of colour themes. However as it says above, the staff. The staff were more than pleasant, in particular Mark. He could not do enough for my wife and I, he was working during breakfast and then again in the evening in the Restaurant. He went above and beyond with every one of our requests. He was clearly someone of importance within the hotel, and perhaps it's this reason that the hotel seems to be so busy. He would not be out of place in a much higher starred environment. Other staff we encountered during our stay were also a pleasure. A decent last minute hotel, cheap and excellent service that far exceeds its environment or star rating.

Room Tip: Fingers crossed Mark is on duty for you
