“Happy Birthday”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Sunday lunch time joint birthday party. Although it was very busy the service and food were excellent. Staff accommodated all our requests and we did not feel we were moved on, plenty of time to catch up. Overnight stay in two rooms both of which were spacious, scrupulously clean, comfortable and each had a door to patios. Breakfast excellent. Hotel in lovely grounds with lots of outside seating areas. Would have no hesitation in returning.

We have no hesitation in returning to Croucher's every time we are visiting the area. Comfortable rooms and good choice of food in the excellent restaurant. Friendly staff help to make each visit an additional pleasure.

I booked last minute on a Thursday 31st July for a quick 2-night getaway with my husband and 3-year old starting Friday! I was pleased to hear that they had rooms available and Lloyd was excellent in making our room arrangements. We arrived on Friday after a long day at 7.00pm and were overwhelmed with the noise from a Biker rock festival in the adjacent field! This continued all weekend and the music stopped at 11.00pm. Not ideal at all. Other than this and the noise from the road, our stay was excellent. Staff 100% at all times, really friendly and extremely accommodating. Room 26 a bit noisy, but Room 11 on our 2nd night lovely. Great expansive breakfast!! Would we go back? Definitely. On a quiet weekend and Room 11! Thank you to all the staff.

We went to Goodwood for the last day of the glorious Goodwood race meeting which was most enjoyable. We stayed at Crouchers for two nights. The hotel was clean modern but I felt the room was a little small, although it did have a table and chairs to sit outside.

we ate in the restaurant on Friday and it was very good with a good selection of wines by the glass and bottle.

The Staff were excellent and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask to stay at the rear of the hotel.

I loved this hotel from the minute I arrived with my friendly pet dog. We were shown to a lovely bedroom in a courtyard which was just a few steps from the main entrance. All their rooms are arranged around small garden courtyards and I found this to be ideal especially when travelling with a dog. The bedrooms were sufficiently spacious, as was the bathroom, very clean and well looked after by the housekeepers. Lots of hot water and plenty of towels and bathroom essentials. Beds were really comfortable and there were plenty of pillows to choose from. Inside the main building there is a smallish bar area and the open plan lounge area had several sofas and armchairs, they had a very nice restaurant area together with an outside dining terrace. The food was good with plenty of choice. All in all good value for money, and I would certainly go there again when in that area. I also found it ideal for the ferries if one didn’t want to actually stay in Portsmouth itself. I used this hotel as a stop-over whilst visiting friends in the area and also to while away a few hours the next day before boarding the late afternoon ferry. My dog and I spent an enjoyable morning discovering Chichester harbour, only 5 minutes away, with all its' most interesting boats, boat yard activities and cafe-bars. The town of Chichester is only a few minutes away on the other side of the main highway and well worth a visit too. I would recomm end this hotel to both a tourist visitor and business men alike.

Room Tip: All rooms that I saw were equally as good
