“Friendly staff, pretty setting”

Very friendly place, the staff are all friendly.

Good food and well presented. There's obviously local trade there too, not just hotel guests.

Pretty setting and conveniently located for the beach and local venues.

Stayed at the hotel for a wedding in Southend barns. Great location for the venue only a short taxi ride away. The room wasn't massive but big enough, with a lovely four poster bed, modern decoration and bathroom. Breakfast was included in the room which consisted of a serve your self continental breakfast, and cereal. Also available was hot meals- cooked breakfasts, French toast, muffins etc- great variety and great quality.

We wanted to stay near the Witterings for a few night, two adults and three young children. Crouchers gave us a great place to stay with a room large enough for all five of us. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, nice facilities.

I recently spent the weekend at Crouchers with my daughter getting married nearby at Southend Barns. We had the most wonderful experience at Crouchers from our initial arrival at reception to the service we experienced in your bar and dining room. The food was wonderful and all of the staff were very accommodating. We would recommend Crouchers wholeheartedly--it was absolutely the BEST!

We stayed here for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We wanted to explore both Chichester itself and Chichester harbour and the hotel is ideally located for both. We booked a room with a four poster and a patio area at the back of the hotel. The room was lovely - not enormous but very bright and modern and with a luxurious bathroom. We did appreciate the hot towel rail as, although it was August, the weather was a bit cool! The little patio area was great and gave the room a real holiday feel. Unfortunately there was an earth mound covered by brambles in the field directly opposite (presumably not owned by the hotel so not much they can do about it!) but to the right and left of that there were beautiful views. We were not aware of any road noise at all at the back of the hotel, nor any noise from other guests.

We ate in the restaurant that night and the food was good, if not outstanding. The staff were friendly but unfortunately did drop the ball over a few details. For instance, my husband had ordered a bottle of champagne to be in the room on our arrival. It was, but had not been put on ice so was warm; the member of staff who showed us to our room did quickly change it. The younger members of the restaurant staff were all very smiley but didn't necessarily act on requests; we had to ask 3 times for a small jug of milk to take to our room and my breakfast order arrived without the requested muffin. We had also ordered a newspaper which we assumed would be delivered to our room but wasn't. When we checked out the receptionist said they kept them at the desk for people to collect as they had found if they left them outside the rooms they were taken. No-one had told us, though, and it rather defeats the purpose of having a morning newspaper in your hotel room if you have to get up, get dressed and go across to reception to collect it!

All minor points but they do prevent a hotel getting a 5* rating in my book. Otherwise a lovely stay and we would return.

Room Tip: Definitely request one of the rooms with a patio.

Only spent one night at Crouchers Hotle but wished that it had been longer! The Hotel rooms are lovely and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We also dined with friends in the Restaurant and the food and service was superb. We would have no hesitation in staying at Crouchers again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel and there is less road noise

We have stayed here a few times and always enjoyed the experience. The rooms are nicely furnished and well equipped. The staff are very attentive and welcoming throughout. We did not dine in the evening this time but have in the past and the food is good, well presented and a good menu. The breakfast is very good. Buffet and hot food cooked to order.
