Never stayed, but regularly have coffee here and recently had lunch. Love it - although perhaps the owners need to take a closer look at what's going on there on a daily basis re staff and staff issues. The manager is perhaps living in a different time re HR, but that's a personal thought. Love the refurb, love the ambience! unsure as to why the menu has been reduced but still very lovely

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your recent review. Our menus have changed only slightly; we now offer a separate bar menu and Sunday menu as well as the A La Carte and Prix Fixe menu, which also includes our daily specials. I will ensure that your feedback as well as your compliments on the new restaurant are passed on to the rest of the team.

Kindest Regards

This hotel is ideal for exploring Chichester as it is right in the heart of the City. The staff were very professional and the recent refurbishments are of a very high standard,We certainly will be going back to do some more exploring and our first booking will be with the Ship Hotel.

This newly refurbished hotel is in the perfect position - only 5 minutes walk from the theatre, cathedral and shops. Despite being so central, it was in a very quiet area and had an ample car park to the rear of the hotel. It was well appointed throughout with stylish bar and restaurant. All staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful but one tip - that if you like toast with your breakfast, make sure that you toast your bread before breakfast arrives. The toaster takes ages and our breakfast was cold by the time we got back to it. Despite this, you can be assured of good service from all staff and a comfortable nights sleep in a very interesting and stylish city.

Room Tip: Room 30 - superior - was on the third floor with double aspect to the park at the rear and to the si...

We visited for lunch, having last been there 6 months ago, to find the bar and restaurant transformed to a stylish and welcoming place for drinks or to eat.; must have cost a small fortune! Great result though and the staff were as efficient and friendly as ever. We had good service, the food was delicious and we look forward to coming back.

Today (15/11/2013) my wife and I visited for lunch. Prior to our arrival, we had not been aware this was the first day the restaurant had been open since major renovation. An extremely relaxing and pleasant new environment. We were very impressed with the efficiency and politeness of the staff, which made the visit a pleasurable experience. The food was excellent. We reside in Horsham and visit Chichester several times each year to shop and usually lunch at the Ship Hotel and will continue to do so. Always a good venue, now even better.
