“Beautiful Little Cottage”
Reviewed 28 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We have recently returned from a short stay at Ruben's Barn. The Barn is perfectly situated for exploring the area and the owners, Rachel & Rob, provided some excellent recommendations for beach, museums and restaurants which were very well received. The cottage is beautifully appointed and very well looked after. The little extras (toiletries and hamper) were a bonus too. Highly recommended!

“Top of the charts for next year”
Reviewed 18 August 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This being our first time going off the hotel trail in the South/South West of the UK on our travels we were excited to see what Rubens Barn had to offer.

The property didn't disappoint. It was beautifully finished off to a high standard and had all the modern facilities you would want in a rental/hotel room. The real charming aspect was the bath in the converted attic space, you could sit and read while soaking in the bath and hear the world go by, and with the week that was in it the odd sportscar.

We stayed in Rubens Barn as our base for the festival of speed and were delighted at how close it was to the Goodwood Estate. We hope to stay again soon for next years Revival Festival and Festival of Speed.

A must stay for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City and looking to recharge their batteries.

This was one of the best places I had ever stayed as it was isolated, quite, romantic an well equipped for my short stay an probably be just as good for longer stays.
I met the owners of the barn who where very hospitable and informative about activities an places to go with information provided in the barn an the condiments were adequate (but ran out of tea bags ☺️) an the white robes weren't available but apart from that I had an excellent time an highly recommend this barn if anyone is looking for quite getaway.

“Idyllic rural retreat”
Reviewed 12 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Just returned from a weeks family holiday at Reubens Barn. The conversion has been carried out to a high standard. The breakfast hamper provided was superb and ideal with no shops locally. The cows who visited the field at the bottom of the garden daily were very friendly and delightful. Rob was the ideal host and ensured that our stay was trouble free and gave us lots of information on arrival.

The only negative was the lack of relaxation space on an evening to watch tv. There were not enough comfy chairs for four adults.

Management Response
31 Jul 2014
Thank you for your review and I am glad you had an enjoyable stay. The barn is perfectly located for exploring the surrounding beautiful countryside and the Roman City of Chichester.

The barn has been awarded 5 stars by VisitEngland and suitable for 4 adults. There is a large sofa-bed which can seat 3 adults in addition to an arm chair. There are 5 chairs around the kitchen table which can be used.

During the summer months guests often open the patio doors which leads onto the garden and enjoy the views of the surrounding Goodwood Estate.

“Wonderful break in the South Downs”
Reviewed 15 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Rubens Barn fully lives up to all the other reviews. We had a wonderful stay here and my children adored having the upstairs bedroom to themselves. The owner had also put a lot of thought into keeping them happy, even putting out a couple of child scooters for them to use on the adjacent tennis court. Adding to the charm its on a quiet country lane--but this is a single track road so you do need to keep your wits about you when you're driving to the barn.
