“Clean and basic hotel, but don't go in a heat wave!”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

I've been to this hotel several times and always found it met with a business travelers basic needs - a bed and shower and a few tv channels. However, as I found to my misfortune I found the rooms do not have air con. This is not normally a problem in this country however, this particular visit was in the middle of a heatwave, and the hotel only had a couple of fans to distribute making sleep basically impossible.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a cheap no thrills nights kip. Just check the weather forecast before you leave!

Excellent location, clean and fairly comfortable (although room very small and storage facilities minimal) but we spent the most uncomfortable 2 nights of our lives, getting minimal sleep. The room temperature was well over 30 degrees, there was no ventilation - the window can only open a crack - and there were insufficient fans available (we checked in at 4pm and there were no fans available). NEVER go to this hotel in summer.

Room Tip: NOT the back of the hotel - these rooms get sun all afternoon and evening and windows open even less...

Very good Travelodge. Excellent position in the centre of Chichester but lack of air conditioning and ventilation makes it insufferable in summer. We have stayed several times and it is always a problem if it is a warm day. Travelodge please install some air conditioning.

While the service was generally good, the rooms aren't ventilated in any way (windows don't open and no air conditioning) meaning you slowly roast in the summers heat.

Not even a fan is supplied to try and alleviate the situation.

A more uncomfortable room I can't imagine.

Just returned from 3 night stay here visiting family. Room very basic, no drawers at all just a shelf and a rail with 6 coat hangers. Bedside cabinets would have been nice. All our underwear had to be left in the case. Room also very hot and window could only open an inch. Stayed midweek as weekend charges very expensive. Staff all pleasant. Excellent location, very central. Wifi charged at £3 a day so did without, surprised charge made for this as most places now offer free wifi.

Stayed last night at this travel lodge as we love Chichester! Fabulous shopping centre and the travel lodge couldn't be better placed! We were on 2nd floor 203 and although the room was small it was spotless and comfy! The parking was underground and is free from 6 to 8 which was fine but the approach up some stairs made us feel a little uncomfortable but apart from that we had a great stay. Weatherspoons is just across the road and did fabulous reasonably priced food! Will we be going back...definitely! We paid £49 for the night.
