“Convenient, good value”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

This hotel is a bargain for its location as it is just opposite the Cathedral.
There are several minor issues that I would like to point out however overall i would still recommend it.

Pros
1. Location
2. Comfortable bed with 4 pillows
3. Good price

Cons
1. It has 3 floors and I stayed in 119 and 321. I have hardly any reception with vodafone on the first floor and justvabout had 3g on the third floor therefore it is impossible to use the internet via the mobile. However you csn get 30min free wifi per 24 hours.

2. Each room has a shower but no bath. There is no shelves in the shower so it is very inconvenient.

3. There is no AC and due to this excellent summer weather it was extremely hot, particularly as due to security reason I could not open the window more than 10 cm.

Room Tip: Ask for 3rd floor to get better phone reception.

This hotel is a great place to stay, right in the centre of Chichester. The staff are always helpful and friendly, and the rooms are large, clean, comfortable and well maintained. The downside is the parking, as this is in the centre of town, but if you park in the Westgate public car park (about five minutes walk away) you can pay by debit card and it'll cost you £4.20 for 24 hours - brilliant. You can also park opposite the hotel for a short time, drop your stuff off, then drive round to the public car park... and do the same on checkout. This is the third year I've stayed here, and it's great for town centre shopping and the theatre. A wonderful experience every year.

Chichester is beautiful and this Travelodge owes much of its charm to that. We found it quite easily, once we navigated to the centre of Chichester. It is in a glorious position directly opposite Chichester Cathedral and very close to main shopping strip. The check in was hassle free and the service friendly and helpful. We were lucky to get a room opposite the Cathedral. It was summer and quite hot. The corridors inside were quite warm, thankfully our room was on the shady side of the building so a bit cooler. No there is no air con but that is why it is budget accommodation yes? We've now stayed in five Travelodges in England, Cornwall and Wales and we count this as our favourite.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the Cathedral, great view and cooler in the summer. Also drop your bags at door...

No air conditioning in room in the middle of summer, was so hot and uncomfortable. General cleanliness was very poor. Used towel with bodily fluid left behind which I accidentally used. I will never stay there again!

There were no bed bugs - that's the good news. But there were many things missing as follows: shower mat, hand towels, drawers, bedside tables, somewhere to put your suitcase, air conditioning, hairdryer, more than one plastic chair, breakfast.

If it is the last place left in Chichester I would advise that you stay in another town. Exceptionally poor value for money - £110 for one night and not during the Goodwood season.

First to be fair...
The staff were actually really welcoming and helpful.
The room was clean and well maintained

However the temperature in the room was absolutely unbearable! Scorching hot no air con or fan and couldn't open the window more than a couple of inches. We had no time to do anything about this on check-in - if I wasn't pressed for time we would not have stayed and got a refund! We got no sleep and checked out early.

I stayed here as a cheap(est) option during the 2013 Goodwood FoS. It's a great location for the event but the markup during that weekend is a little steep. Breakfast option is not the best. However I was given room 1 which is the biggest, a very spacious room resulting in the room being a lot cooler than that of my colleagues.

The staff at this hotel are super helpful and friendly. All of the receptionists I dealt with during my stay were fantastic and they would do anything to help out.

The shower is average, but a reflection on what you normally get so no real horrors.

This hotel is good for a business trip stopover.
