“OUTSTANDING small B&B”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

Jane & Robin exemplify "guest service" from soothing ruffled nerves after a very taxing arrival day to making sure our every comfort was assured.....even to the extent of having a a handy (no pun!)
handbar adjusted to his height in the shower for my husband. This couple does it all...interacting with guests, cooking, cleaning, baggage handling, conceirge...you name it and they do it with grace. Spotlessly clean, very comfy beds, wonderful bathrooms, and divine breakfast........very well located for sightseeing in the Chichester area (we were visiting family) and for the business traveller. With only 3 rooms you are assured undivided attention. The only concern is that the rooms are on the second floor and the stairs are quite steep and may prove a challenged forolder travellers..but not to fear.....Robin is at the ready to lend a steadying arm!! Highly recommend this property.

Very well equipped, smartly decorated and comfortable room (for what it's worth, also incredibly well designed to make the most of the available space). The hosts Robin and Jane were very welcoming and helpful.

The only negative was that I had a bit of restless night, in the event, as it was quite warm in the house, and the fact there is a crossroads immediately outside meant that I didn't particularly want to open the window (to be fair, there isn't a very serious traffic noise - it is pretty quiet with the windows closed).

(As a side point, but connected with the above... I don't usually bothering mentioning this, since it's a point you could make with 95% of all hotels/B&Bs, and it becomes a bit redundant to say it every time... but the experience could be improved vastly by providing a sheet (you know, just a normal, unfitted cotton sheet) as well as a duvet - so you can actually adjust your temperature properly. Never understood why there isn't customer demand for this. Perhaps I just have worse homeostasis than everyone else...)

Obviously Robin and Jane had a very good idea of what their B&B should be, and the total restoration of Musgrove House’s interior exemplifies a combination of style and efficiency that creates a perfect B&B. The hosts provided an abundance of information about the property and Chichester in advance, and we were greeted with coffee and biscuits upon arrival. Robin and Jane could not have been more accommodating in answering questions or offering breakfast choices. The room was well equipped; the bathroom modern with a nice shower; and the off-street parking was appreciated. Musgrove House is a leisurely ten-to-fifteen minute walk from the Cathedral and city center. Helpful restaurant suggestions were offered, and we ended up at the Côte Brasserie. There is much to do and see in the area, and Chichester is a convenient base. Musgrove House is a classic B&B, with posted rules and all, but much more user friendly and youthful in character. Thanks, Robin and Jane.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The coffee and cake was a lovely touch and much appreciated, as was a map of the local area with recommendations of where to eat, drink and visit. The guest house was very clean and modern with a nice array of toiletries available. Breakfast was delicious and I was impressed with the home made veggie sausages, home made chutney and home made plum jam! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend Musgrove House.

The owners of this B&B makes you feel welcome as soon as you arrive
It has spotless rooms, with modern decor and true "guest awareness". We saw room one which was huge with a fab bathroom but stayed in room 3 which was also lovely.
Serving up a delicious breafast this B&B gets our vote

Room Tip: Room 0ne is amazing

We were greeted with a warm welcome (as well as a cuppa and cake!). Excellent location - only a 15-20 minute walk into the centre of Chichester. We were in room 2 at the back of the house - was bright with a big bathroom! Breakfast was delicious - a special mention must go to the eggy bread! Perfect hosts - very knowledgable about the area and recommended us places to explore as well as to eat and drink. Would definately go back!

Never judge a book by it's cover, the same here. When inside it is a totally wonderful experience, the food, standard of fittings, done in a modern style, have been chosen by caring people as part of their home not just a business and it shows when you meet them. Always attentive but not pushy and with a sense of humour too. I agree with the previous two reviews too. We were in the cheapest (smallest?) room facing the front and had no problems with traffic noise or space. As others have said hot water, towels, bed comfort all first class. Highly Recommended.
