Description: Cloisters Cafe prides itself on fair trade suppliers and freshly cooked food, featuring dishes such as smoked haddock with a gruyere and tomato gratin, supreme of chicken in a mushroom and tarragon sauce and roasted sweet potato with a bean ragu. Old favourites also appear on the menu along with baked potatoes and a range of hot and cold sandwiches. There is a roast on Sundays when bookings can be made in advance. Cloisters also has a beautiful walled garden and the stunning Cathedral spire can be seen through its glazed roof. Next to our cafe is the Cloisters Shop, offering a range of unique and gorgeous gifts and accessories, souvenirs and religious items. A perfect way to round off a visit to the Cathedral, or just to find that special present.

“A SMALL PARADISE IN THE CENTER OF CHICESTER”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

In a sunny day the garden of the café is the best solution to spend an hour or more enjoying the good quality of a cappuccino , 2,25 £ each [self service].
There is a large variety of sandwiches and soft drinks but the garden and the walls of the Cathedral is something impressive .

Lovely garden outdoors to have our coffee and cakes one afternoon. Another lovely quiet location for a rest on our busy walking schedule.

“Delightful setting”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

A lovely setting on a sunny day with very reasonable good quality food. I can reccomend this venue. It can get quite busy but service is very good and organised. A very varied menu with a variety of food on offer.

“A meal with a view!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Visited this excellent cafe at the weekend. It has attractive indoor seating but if the weather is as kind as it was to us, then you can use the lovely garden chairs and tables and look back at the cathedral tower behind you. As an added bonus it was a day when enthusiasts bring a scope so you can look more closely at the resident peregrine falcons which are nesting in the tower. Bring you own binoculars and you may very well catch a glimpse - an amazing sight. There was a very good choice of sandwiches on offer of which we sampled the bacon, brie and walnut, coronation chicken and sweet chilli chicken and found them delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Give it a try if you are looking for good value and a quiet and attractive setting.
